They're "archiving' them, making it sound like they're going out of their way to preserve history. When in reality it means closing the forums to new posts and no one bothering to hit delete. A fitting end to all the theorycrafting over there.

You never disturb an autist nest, closing the RSI forums will be a gigantic clusterfuck. Letting thousands of these people settle in for five years? It wouldn't even matter if Spectrum was actually good, just the change itself is going to gently caress with these people psychologically. It's different than something like the SA move because Star Citizen is entirely funded by the people on their forums on an ongoing basis. Them continuing to buy ships regularly is kinda important. It'd be funny if something like spectrum kicked off the refund cascade. People are not happy about this. What is CIG thinking? When people pay thousands/tens of thousands of dollars for your product they think they are princesses that deserve to decree how the company treats them.
