A recent example of alienation was when she picked a fight with a friend of mine over that friend using the term "retard" because that's ableist even though she herself often called me a "retard." I don't like people using that slur but it is nothing I would abandon friends over. That friend was one of the most supportive when I got out of the hospital for the suicide attempt.

She was irresponsible, and made impulsive decisions with consequences. Despite my protests that it was a bad idea she took home a huge rabbit from one of our friends but then took it back the next day because she couldn't take care of it, which alienated both of us from those friends. She then went out and bought two guinea pigs and I told her, I don't handle pets well. I don't like the responsibility of pets and it would be up to her to take care of them. A few months later the guinea pig cage is in my room, she tells me she will still feed them. I wind up having to feed and water them. The day I got back from the hospital having stayed there for a week, the food bowl was empty, the water bottle was empty, the pigs were thin and everything remotely edible in the cage was eaten and the room was filled with flies. She told me I needed to care for them from now on because she didn't have the spoons. Unlike her, I have an actual job. It''s full time. I enjoy working there but I don't exactly have "the spoons" either and I never volunteered for this. The fact that I was home from a suicide attempt, that she pushed me towards with her behavior, carried little weight. I explicitly told her I would not take care of the gunea pigs. We soon took them to a shelter, although I had to be the one to take them in and submit my license because she didn't want to be banned from taking in more animals in the future.

She was horrendous with money, I had given her money for utilities, gas, and such and it went towards brand name energy drinks, sodas, and micro transactions for Hearthstone. I suggested off brand sodas and off brand everything else. I got food stamps before I found a job, she pressured me not to report that I had gotten a job for a while, something that is fraud and I went along with it because I am a fool and I will probably pay for it come tax time. Food stamp money went towards brand name stuff and frozen pizzas. She gave me grief that I was trying to budget them. She ate most of my food stamps and still we went out to eat even as her parents offered to make us dinner. She did this out of a grudge against her parents or just because. I went along with it because I was too weak willed not to. She often threatened me if I told her parents we went out to eat. I told her I believed in being honest.

When it came to religion, she tried to dictate that too. I started going to Church and started believing when I discovered that there were queer friendly churches. She hated me going to church, she hated that I was making friends and socializing with people. At first I was doing it for networking but then I started to believe for real. I couldn't care less if she came along, I don't care what she believed but she was constantly insulting me and calling me a Jesus freak. It hurt my feelings because I wasn't anything like that. There were multiple occasions I didn't go because she forbid it, because she wasn't comfortable with it. because we didn't have gas money for it but we had plenty of gas money to drive her rear end to will county to buy cigarettes and plenty of money for cigarettes.

Her relatives were also abusive, one attacked me without provocation, screaming at me that I was a "human being in a wig" and told me he was going to smash my car. The house was full of loud screaming arguments by adults.

One day, I went to go hang out with a friend after she dumped me for talking to other friends about using money I had to beg for on bullshit like energy drinks and using money she told people was related to us potentially losing the house to buy an xbox one and dozens of games. While out she sent me and the friend, threatening messages that she was setting all my stuff on fire. The friend convinced me to leave. I put out a distress signal on facebook looking for a couch for a few nights, and yeah, I talked to some people on the no-no list, most of them are my friends again and consoled me about my ex.

I have temporary housing on a couch but its not what I need. I don't have a mailing address, I don't have a bed, I don't have a place to put any of my stuff but a pile on the floor in a house where the pets poop everywhere.
I've called the DV help line and no one has room and they told me to go to a homeless shelter. I talked to a social worker about it at Howard Brown, an LGBT clinic and she was able to find places that had openings but she had to press the hotline person for it because there seems to be an unspoken policy not to tell transgender callers or callers who sound male about DV shelters.

The one place that had an opening that wasn't 200 miles away, Neopolitan Lighthouse asked me invasive questions about my anatomy, I have since learned that this is illegal, per HUD and local laws. They asked me if I had a penis and told me that as far as they are concerned I am a man and the shelter is for women and that I need to go to a homeless shelter.

Homeless shelters are a great place to get robbed, and probably worse. I would be housed with men there too and as a TG woman with visible breasts I am in a vulnerable position. They don't have DV shelters for men and even if they did, why should I be housed with men? I am a woman. Also men get abused too, why aren't there options for abused men other than a homeless shelter? This just keeps victims of abuse in toxic relationships for fear of not having a place to stay. Plus, I need counceling. I am emotionally compromised, depressed to the point I can barely get out of bed (well, couch) and I feel completely abandoned by the system in addition to my partner.

The issue might be moot as I am meeting with another lady today who has a spare room. But it is just so unfair. It is illegal for them to ask me those question, it is illegal for them to turn me away if they have beds.

Do I have any options to sue them when I get back on my feet? I'm pissed, I feel like they owe me compensation for violating the law in discriminating against me, forcing me to spend precious resources on alternatives in my most desperate hour, that had I not been part of this class, I would not have had to spend. More over, if they are doing it to me, while fund raising saying they are LGBT friendly and getting Howard Brown to refer people to them, and getting aid from the state, then they are bound to do it to other trans girls. What power does an anti-discrimination law have if it is not enforced? I want to sue the poo poo out of them.

I don't know what it is about GBSFM, but we sure attract the weirdos. Kuuenbu came into irc one day all elated to share a photo he'd taken of a poo poo he'd done, because "It looked like a phoenix". Yeah. The guy is industrial strength autistic, and not in any kind of 'haha funny' way.

I think Fire was a regular for a while as well, until we banned them for being an absolute shed.
