quote:Odysseus is an in-memory data management engine designed to handle big data . Large amounts of data such as continuous events or sensor data can be processed in real time . For this purpose, the platform provides a plurality of prefabricated and reusable processing steps with which the data can, for example, be filtered, correlated, extended, transformed, in order to generate complex events and higher-quality information from simple events. Equipped with efficient resource management and processing concepts , expandable and flexible interfaces, and a development environment, Odysseus significantly reduces the effort and minimizes errors in the development of real-time applications. could've solved your siren problem right here

Shaggar posted:are there any mechanisms for padding out data that's encrypted to prevent this kind of thing? Use a fixed bitrate codec and disable silence suppression. The standard telephone codec G.711 is a locked solid 64 kilobit per second stream (~80kbit/sec after IP, UDP, and RTP overhead in a VoIP environment) in this configuration, so at that point it's all up to your encryption.

I was thinking more transport layer where you might have more options w/ something like Netflix where they're gonna mandate the codecs/bitrates. like could you do a vpn that dynamically pads the vbr stream? or I suppose just introduce noise.

i guess you could always do ssh port forwarding or something

Shaggar posted:are there any mechanisms for padding out data that's encrypted to prevent this kind of thing? nullsoft's waste file sharing app had this feature in 2003 Also it wouldn't be that hard to do this on a vpn, just add continuous traffic like iperf, then use qos to throttle the whole vpn connection and give iperf low priority

just for fun question: can a stingray remotely update your iPhone radio firmware, kick you off wifi, and tunnel all your info through the fake cell tower? I asked Siri a (not-innocuous) question and moments later: -all my authentications (apple and email) started failing -I couldn't connect to my wifi (working for everyone else in the room) -browser speed was throttled to almost nothing -going to cell settings spat out a message that my cell radio settings had been updated, apropos of nothing -resetting my radio did nothing, I had to do a full restore
