I love when you tell clients (multiple times) the prerequisites for a project and yet when you go to start they haven't been completed. All I need is an AD user and a DNS entry added. You were told five days ago and yet I still don't have the info

God loving poo poo damnit. I have lost count of how many times dumbass suppliers submit a ticket: **URGENT** We have updated our $system$ and you need to make an update too or EVERYTHING WILL BREAK. >Calls supplier, who doesnt answer; leaves voicemail >Responds to email: "Hello Dumbass Supplier, What do we need to do to stop the sky from falling?" ... Two days pass. ... **URGENT** Has the unspecified update that we requested three days ago been completed?!? Please do the needful.

Vista, Extended Support ends today. I remember when XP ended it was a Big Deal and we had dozens of users coming in in a panic. Zero panicked Vista users so far. Have they even bothered patching in a nag screen pop-up like they did with XP?

At my old web hosting company each of us Sysadmins were given a "Project Box" that we could do whatever on provided we didn't destroy our bandwidth, this was of course to avoid us "Stealing" resources. My project box was a ventrillo server, one other guys was a counterstrike server, and the third was a BF2 server, we all shared these and had fun with them. Our dedicated windows guy setup an IRC server and file share repository for kiddie porn. The FBI took that box and his workstation. The company took away our game servers. gently caress you Ed.

Give the 19 inch to someone else and tell them when a 22 inch comes in, you'll give it to them. Then never follow up.

There's also a 15 inch 1024x768 monitor with touchscreen for $517 which looks to be meant for point of sale use http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=A7897928 All of these do appear to still be brand new monitors, but it could be that they just built tons of them and have kept them in stock for specialty purposes. Not really sure why'd you get them, but I guess they're the cheapest option if 1366x768 isn't acceptable for having the vertical resolution too low.
