So I haven't played since 2.0 released and I have no loving idea what to do. I remember having a Vulture kitted out for bounty hunting but making any kind of money was mind numbing and I couldn't afford any kind of trading ship (nor did I really understand how to properly trade even with the third party routes, I never made more than a few hundred credits profit per run). I want to get back into this since there's been three major patches since I last played, so where do I even start? Is there a good "get up to speed on the 1.5 years of poo poo you missed" that can get me into something decent? I'd like to participate in power play and exploration, mainly.

they must have buffed passenger missions. The best one I've ever seen was 2.1 million for five stops, today there are two three-stop missions on the same board for over four million apiece

So would "ship name" be Enterprise and "ship id" would be 1701 if Star Fleet were doing It? Are they both unique, or will we see 90000 Serenitys?

Well horizons is on sale in the frontier store and if you buy it in britcoins it comes out to around $16 which IMO is worth if you like the base game mechanics and were holding off. It won't be any cheaper until the new season is announced. Engineering opens up a lot of interesting stuff you can do but of course it's locked behind moderate grind. This specific patch though with multicrew being shot in the crib there's not a while lot else.

Got a sweet roll on my DBX jump range, she now does 55.5LY with no guns but a SRV, scoop and scanners fitted. Took her out for a test run to the Witch Head Nebula, 16 jumps The class 4 scoop is a bit anemic once you've been used to guzzling star-fuel in an Asp

Pro-tip: if you are new or returning to the DBX, dive into the star and then scan while refueling. Even with an overcharged power plant, my Bananaboat gives no fucks about heat.

VR performance does seem improved as well. Increased the HMD to 1.75 and it's still smooth, might need to increase some of the other settings. Kicked in for horizons since it's on sale. Did a delivery and think I'll save a few million to get into first class taxi services to make sweet cash of space Trumps.
