Well looking at their 2014 (post scope change) schedule Star Citizen fully released last year

In a year and a half, they've added shopping, clothes, a space station, and some ships. Oh, and a bottom of the barrel trash FPS in an engine made explicitly for FPS games. Good luck with 3.0 with the claimed features by the end of the year, or ever.

Assume they spin Evocati testing out for nearly 3 months under a strict NDA, that gets them to Citizen Con. 179 days until Citizen Con. I'm far from convinced they'll make it that far, according to the dodgy tracker, June 2016 brought in $2,216,294, July was $895,920.

Man the Euros are really carrying the project. Funding always spikes the day of an ATV (for Euros they don't watch til the day after). I've noticed Chris and Erin only talk to German mags etc.

3.0 coming any time this year with everything as promised by Chris (back when he said it was coming out soon) is basically a pipe dream. Mostly everything CIG talks about is couched in the context of them mulling over their options and then is immediately followed by them forcibly reeling back expectations when someone takes a half-baked idea spoken aloud and runs to Reddit to speculate about it. All anyone ever really gets shown is mocap of absolutely menial and unimportant poo poo, or a bunch of npcs navigating the treachery of a loving cafeteria. That said I have no doubt they will release something and call it 3.0, but it's gonna be a mess.

Saladin Rising posted:So are the RSI forums going to be completely nuked, or is it "closed with a redirect link"? From the top of the forum page "On April 14, all our old forums will be archived. You will no longer be able to create new threads or reply to old ones. Please prepare to make the jump to Spectrum." This is causing lots of grief. There is a disturbance in the farce. Seems that posts that are too negative of Spectrum are being deleted in Spectrum.

What?!? They're shutting forums down? They're actually shutting down a WORKING thing in favor of a lovely MVP (which, by the words of a forum member isn't really ready for this)? Wow. They're actually making UNprogress.

Yeah, we're actually five years in now, so it's getting harder to compare other development _favorably_. Especially given the list of mechanics not sorted out.
