OK, now I like Peyton slightly more;quote:He joked that there was one regret that he had while playing. “One time I should have gotten under center and gone, ‘Blue 20, blue 20, Jim Nantz is a no good you-know-what,’ and then they would have turned those microphones down.” http://www.sbnation.com/2017/4/12/15279674/peyton-manning-omaha-why-does-he-say-it-broncos-colts

And then I found out that not only does he still play, he had 10.5 sacks last year. Playing for the Titans is a hell of a thing.

Football outsiders breaks down their adjusted games lots stat per unit: http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stat-analysis/2017/2016-adjusted-games-lost-unit Patriots had the healthiest defense, Rams on offense. Bears and Vikings were the most injured respectively. The Vikings nearly double up the 2nd most injured team when it comes to offensive line. The next largest gap is at WR where the Chargers lost over 2 years worth of starting WR play from their group. Patriots & Packers were super healthy on their Dline, while the Rams and Jaguars linebackers missed no time.

jon cooper turned into chandler jones, levi brown turned into nothing because he was traded for a conditional seventh or something and then promptly got hurt

Rae Carruth had a good year at least, unlike Jason Peters who was addicted to heroin when the panthers drafted him. Also they're uh not telling that whole story with Bo Jackson. Gotta think the time they drafted the wrong person was a bigger fuckup.

Justin Gilbert barely ever played and when he did he was awful, and his draft position was very high, but I don't know if I can call him a bigger overall bust than Weeden or Manziel considering you expect so much more from a QB than a CB.

I think Bo Jackson is fair considering he was the #1 overall pick and they hosed with him so egregiously, that the guy said gently caress you and played baseball instead is probably the worst. The Patriots should probably be Kenneth Sims who was just a massive underperformer but was drafted 1st overall instead of Cris Canty or any of the other outright busts the Pats have had at the end of the 1st round.

Even trading an entire draft away for two 1000 yard seasons might be a less awful decision. Kalli posted:I think Bo Jackson is fair considering he was the #1 overall pick and they hosed with him so egregiously, that the guy said gently caress you and played baseball instead is probably the worst. He also flat out told them he wouldn't play for them before the draft. They probably thought they were being smart calling his bluff, and like a lot of Tampa Bay things back then they....were not.

The Rams biggest draft busts are now Alex Barron/Jason Smith/Greg Robinson only because for the last 12 years they have drafted all 3 looking for Orlando Pace's replacement.

If Trump didn't kill the USFL the Bandits would likely have killed the Buccaneers and could've taken their place when the USFL eventually fell. Tampa fans would've been so much better off.

It's also worth noting that the Chiefs biggest draft bust from 1983 is also the last quarterback drafted by the team to win a game for them.

If they are gonna talk about Bo Jackson because he never played for them, then Minnesota's should be Jordan Gross because the Vikings couldnt make their pick in time.

?? I've never heard the Vikings were trying to get Jordan Gross. Like, every story I've ever heard was the Vikings were trying to trade down, were maybe going to do it with the Ravens (who wanted Leftwich) but Jacksonville kept them tied up on the phones so they could take Byron instead. Then Carolina raced to get Gross while the Vikings made the pick they were planning to take after a trade down in Kevin Williams.
