There was one point where Inhad the video paused on on that big-eyes-huge-smile monstrosity and J would literally look at the screen, double myself over coough-laughing, ease up a little, look back and the screen, and double myself over again. I actually had to take a 5 minute break.

I like to imagine Griffin sitting in the little car from the Safety Town bit going 'gently caress you, nerds!' then driving off whenever people sperg about the changes in the rules. I'm pretty sure this arc is a test to see whether or not they feel comfortable with another system in the event that they switch away from 5e after the end of this campaign.

My favorite part of the new Skyrim was whenever Griffin slid a new slider over a bit then immediately slid it back in horror.

My favorite part was the part where Griffin made the man's mouth open very wide, and then kept making it open wider and wider until it was so wide that my soul got sucked into it and now I'm in hell. Also the big middle fingers.

Lick! The! Whisk! posted:IF that's true, and I agree, then this was by-far one of the worst episodes because it allowed for very little-to-no improvising. It was the three main characters describing their actions, rolling a dice, then Griffin reading a short story. Over and over again. This is a true and accurate description of the episode, but I'm hoing that future Lost Century episodes will have all the boys (including Griffin) be a little more comfortable in the individual narrative control that a PBTA hack gives the players. Griffin's extremely pared-down Dungeon World I think is a smart way to do this arc - it's short, covers a unique passage of time in the narrative, and allows the same characters without transposing them too heavily. However, PBTA games typically have specific moves with at least some conditional text and rails to give the players guidance on what they can describe or accomplish. I'm hoping that what we saw in this episode was just growing pains and by the next one, the players will feel a bit more confident in taking narrative control, and Griffin more confident in giving it to them. Regardless, I still think the show is good, the world is fun and rich, and all the guys are having a good time.

my hot take: Griffin saying that this arc would ideally be over in 2 episodes is basically the same as Andrew Hussie saying that Homestuck would end in 2010, and I will not mind it at all as long as we get more Lup

You'd think he would have learned by now.

Serious post: Maybe someone should start a podcast thread in TT. I'll even ask questions. I think tabletop games sound really dope, and I even went out and bought some. But this systems vs. narrative argument is getting old. Really.

I'm interested in her, but really hope we get more out of her outside of being Taako Too, because I find that kind of boring and a really lazy way of handling a character that's going to be really important to one of the PC's and a major NPC.

Lup Forever. First I had heard of Lupe was in the past 3 episodes and just found out she was a trans in the most recent episode. Like, the name was mentioned in passing when they were looking at the picture in the directors office and then they have this big long spiel about the name in the TtAZZ episode and then the most recent ep they drop some stuff like we're supposed to know she's trans like natch. I don't listen to these shits intensely and sure as hell don't read fan theory's or Reddit. Where the gently caress did this character come from that people seem to have any information on?
