So, I'm in a tournament in couple weeks where in you bring 1 ship at 40 points. You get paired with someone else and face two opponents. Therefore, what I am considering is either Ten numb with mangler, VI, adv sensors Ps9 Poe with R5-P9, Autothrusters, Lone Wolf O'Leader with juke, comms relay, and shield upgrade(Only works out to 30) Soontir with PTL, Stealth, Auto (Only comes out to 35 points) Ten is just to gently caress with anyone who brings soontir I'll be honest.

Not everything on that list hurts everything else equally but they will all give Poe a bad day. Yeah Stress and hotcop are bad for Fenn too but he has mindlink mitigating some of that, has 2 safe range bands and also costs 10ish less points.

It's his damage output vs cost compared to other regen aces, not his survivability. Miranda is better over time with TLT. If you spend points on bombs or missiles, you get better burst damage too. Corran has better burst damage. Nora is super as tanky and hits like a truck.

I do think adv. slam+action bombs+sabine are a bit over the top in terms of what they do to low hp ships because the area in which a k-wing can dump cluster mines/connor net on you as a lower ps ship is insane.

Speaking of Dumb But Fun: 4-action U-Wing with no stress! U-Wing: · Cassian Andor (27) Expert Handling (2) Advanced Sensors (3) Experimental Interface (3) Kyle Katarn (3) Inspiring Recruit (1) Pivot wing (0) -- TOTAL ------- 39p. -- Dial in a green move. Use Advanced Sensors to start off with a Target lock or focus action. Trigger experimental interface off that to do an Expert Handling barrel roll (and shed an enemy lock!). Receive two stress. Reveal and execute your green move. Inspiring recruit clears both stress and gets you two focus from Kyle. End result: Barrel Roll (on a large ship!), two focuses, and either a third focus or a target lock. And you're not stressed.

If I give someone a list of my expansions in Yet Another Squad Builder could someone help me figure out some good beginner squadrons I can use for playing games with friends who are new to the game? I dove in way to deep way to quick thanks to a friend gifting me a few hundred dollars worth of ships and the setup is the most intimidating part for me that keeps me from playing the game more. None of my friends who I would be playing with have played it more than once and I've only played like 4x now. Really just hoping for some good beginner squadron lists even though I have way more ships than the starter sets.

Have you run them through the beginner/learn to play games with one x-wing and 2 TIEs yet? That really is the best way to learn. After you do that, maybe double it to 2 X-Wings and 4 TIEs. After that, everyone pick a new ship to learn each game?

Another thing I'll add is that a hard part for a player as new as you might be to balance the squad lists, so there's not a clear overpowered squad. That's something I'm sure the thread can help with, if you have some guidelines on what you want to see in a list. Like, "we want to have one squad with the Millennium Falcon and one or two other ships from the original trilogy, and another squad with Darth Vader in a TIE Advanced" gives you a lot to go off of.
