The penalty call may have been right. But the rule is wrong. Nearly all hip checks are dangerous. A big impact to the knee of someone going 88mph is not safe.

That ovi's knee gets hit is incidental to the hip check, sucks that he was hurt for 60s or so but still not an illegal check
