I nearly hit 2 people who did this to me on one 50 stretch of busy city road earlier in the week. And I've hit someone in the past who walked out into grade separated bike paths without looking, luckily that one was uphill so I was only going ~25km/h

Well I mean if you don't want to be called a nazi apologist, I guess don't support a guy who at best has been complicit in allowing anti-semitism to have a platform around his politics. This isn't some bizarro idea, anti-semitism is unfortunately alive within left-wing circles (looking at your, SAlt), so youwill get some pushback if you start spouting poo poo views

But you're right, bike rego would prevent literally nothing. -/- On a serious note, how does one go about getting involved with refugee outreach in Melbourne? I want to do something to help improve quality of life for refugees and help break up the monotony, but I have literally zero idea where to start. The immigration centres in Broady and Maribyrnong aren't far from me, and I'd be open to going along and doing whatever.

Registration to fund no-fault insurance for people injured by bicycles might be useful though. If his Dad hadn't died he'd have a lot of medical bills, and the cyclist might not be able to pay those bills. Or we could have universal, totally 'free' healthcare. That might be easier.

I think it's pretty long but there's been some traditional distrust of Jews coming from (before?) the time of the Russian Civil War???? Usually the most recent ones I see around are the super pro-Palestine ones which sucks because stopping the Palestinian genocide is really good and important but IDK if we can also call for Israeli genocide without it basically coming off as wanting to murder the jews again. You've hit the nail on the head WRT "the socialist ideal", IMHO. It's not like the massive problem gripping the (actual) left generally, but it's still something to reflect on. NTRabbit posted:Is it antisemitism or antizionism? thatbastardken posted:Yeah sure but basically all the criticism I've seen of Corbyn on that score is really being pushed by his factional enemies or radical Zionists and seems super suss. These are actually always super-good points to consider and I think everyone who considers themselves left leaning or socialist should consider how they feel about the Palestine vs. Israel thing. I think that you can be against what Israel is doing without being anti-semitic (I'm very against what Israel is doing), but it can bleed over a fair bit so I think it's always a balancing act.

Depending on who you read, Abbott should be brought back into cabinet, or given some sort of job, or better still some éminence grise with miraculous tranquillising powers, such as John Howard, should step into the ring with a chair and a whip. You can see it really, can’t you? Shut up Malcolm, Tony. Stand up and tuck your shirt in, Dad’s home.
