Yeah tbh you can't really argue Rooney was a waste of money or they paid too much in transfer fee, he was their star player for the best part of a decade.

Should have sold him years ago

Rooney was a great purchase at the time, has been great for 10+ years, but United should have scaled back his wages/role over the last couple of years and found a proper replacement for him. Easier said than done though.

It' more like he can buy a middle sized african country every week by living off past performances. And snitch to the press on locker room drama ever so often

Lot 49 posted:Yes. To Chelsea in 2013. Instead he got an insane new contract. It's insane that after Fergie almost literally said "do not give this man a new contract, sell him now" they went and gave him a massive new deal which basically made him unsellable.

I doubt it. His relationship with Mourinho is so strong the club will help him if they can though.

I'm sure his rehab isn't going to be a financial problem whatsoever regardless of who pays for it

Can't see Mourinho commisaring Zlatan if he is injured when the contracts runs out. Will probably do an other one year contract

Man Utd would probably allow him to recover at their facility, keep a good relationship and re-sign him if he fully recovers.

Cut from the same cloth as Ricky Hatton. IMO no level of cardio could rescue him from an early decline. Also just mileage. He's been around forever and went all-out for many of those years. He's gonna blow up so fast when he retires, the only way it could be worse is if he was South American surrounded by mountains of beef at every meal.
