That ship has sailed for almost 100 years now. There is almost no real antifederalist movement and the president is seen as the one real leader of the country. Crushing segregation in the 50s and 60s by invading arkansas really was the decisive power grab for the federal executive from which we're not likely to recover. Might as well accept it and pick a bitchin' empire name.
