America has a huge Road Racing culture and some world class circuits. I think ovals predominated though due to their ubiquitousness though. American Road Racing seemed to focused on the Northeast and like California for quite some time.

No we established this. Danica is loving rubbish and a great example of what I'm talking about. The only reason she exists at all is ovals. Someone that poo poo can only exist in a place with no brakes and no turns and lets all drive in bumper to bumper traffic. Sure I race, you can find me in iRacing or at the kart track. In iRacing it's Formula Renault because Star Mazda has ovals and therefore isn't serious.
