That's my understanding too, but interestingly enough CBC is getting Sens-Rangers. I figure it's mostly "Rogers would like people to actually buy Sportsnet/Sportsnet Now but they will throw a Canadian bone to the CBC."

That's because Sens / Rangers is going to get less eyeballs than Pens / Caps, Canadian team notwithstanding.

Is it different between round 1 and 2? CBC got both the Leafs and Habs.

I know CAS doesn't like him, but I wouldn't have minded Alzner back so we could dress 7D.

I'm fine with Alzner replacing Orpik and no one else, but I'm not thrilled about the idea of going with 7D since they've literally never done that under Trotz and could lead to confusion and some pretty dumb pairings instead of the ones that have worked.

PK's dirty plays are all intentional, measured acts of violence. Letang's are all his brain flipping a switch and deciding someone needs to die

I get that people like Subban more than Letang, but how is he better? Aside from age / injuries, of course. Yeah yeah, I said that Letang is better, and maybe he's not, but lol at you if you think that's an "lol" statement. That's right, lol at you.

They look pretty comparable when you look at a variety of scoring and possession stats. Based on eye test I'd say that Subban is a better scorer and Letang is a better defender, but they're both pretty solid 1A guys that can score and defend. And they both play with intensity -- Subban in a pumped up, positive energy sort of way, and Letang in a tunnel vision, murder your own parents sort of way.

He's good at slewfooting and trash talking, but he needs some dirty hits to round it all out. Letang's got all three.

The places Subban is better on that chart are the "At hockey" ones and the places Letang are better are the "He is on the same team as Sidney Crosby" ones.

You know he's the villain, because he's got shifty eyes.
Reminder that, until this season, Subban was playing on a mediocre team with a coach that hated him. Letang plays on a loaded, Cup winning team.

Maybe my eyes need checking but it looks like Subban is better at scoring and Letang is better at defending but neither is so much better than the other at either that it makes much of a difference overall.

Then you compare them both to Karlsson whose charts go off into Jesus land and you sigh wistfully while sheathing your katana

I know a girl who broke her femur (and a ton of other leg bones) this year while skiing, she went into shock so fast when they landed the helicopter on the hill to fly her to the hospital she couldn't feel her legs at all.

Which was better for her, worse for those of us who knew her and went "oh poo poo, skied into a tree and can't feel her legs, that's not good"

Rushing the net is loving terrifying and I'm surprised more forwards don't get their lower body shattered into powder each season.

I get that they're professionals and have worked their way towards that confidence with years of practice, but their opponents are professionals too and are trained to interfere with that poo poo more aggressively.

Me? I'm thinking about my abort strategy by the time I get to the top of a faceoff circle.

I know the the first time I ever try to be aggressive on a rush will be the time I catch an edge and crash into/hurt someone and myself.
