I remember Rich saying Mike & Jay vehemently defend the editing process and don't let anyone else do it. Like Jack keeps offering to do it to help free up time but they consider their editing pace* their USP. *edit the pacing and cuts of the video edits as opposed to how fast they edit.

It's not quite long enough to be a 'lol we're bad at editing like Plinket' joke, but it's just a bit longer than it should be, like maybe 2 seconds of just a black screen after a clip or something. It happens so often it makes me wonder if there's some kind of inside joke I'm missing.

jack wrote an after effects script that strips out all the blank frames and thats why jack cant edit anything. he just uses math and his cuts have no soul

I always wondered why sometimes longer videos had weird pauses like that at points. I thought it was something to do with the old days when youtube vids could only be uploaded in 15 min chunks or what ever then later you could splice them together. I always forget youtube apparently has ads for the 9 people on earth still not using ublock or something.

I whitelisted youtube in my adblocker since I actually would like some of the people I watch to get that ad money... but now YT is bombing me with campaign ads for our Republican governor so I blocked 'em all again.
