He's probably more ticked that the plans for CitizenCon were stolen. Clearly, Fyre needed Toast - they didn't even make sure their employees were NDA'd.

It's massively staged cutscenes, guys. :(

The only thing all this proves is that they can make a cutscene, which has never been the issue.

The issue is the actual game, which outside of using the same graphics as the cutscene, is nothing like the cutscene.

They can say that but "promising and not delivering a product" is still grounds for a refund in most customer protection laws around the world and missing a deadline is part of that. CIG can wring their hands all they want about it but ultimately it's a country's law that defines what is or isn't eligible for a refund and trying to tell people otherwise doesn't make them right, and that's why they'll never get the point of the courts being involved before giving a refund. Quite frankly I don't know why they bother, the only people inclined to trust that statement are the people who operate on blind faith with them anyway and they aren't looking for refunds are they? There's no 'refund loophole' they can close, it's just how most customer protection laws function around the world.

I get that they really want this game to succeed but we're way too many years into countless setbacks and false promises, and major letdowns. I don't see how anyone could still believe this game is going to change or revolutionize anything. It's shown that for a shitload of money you can get a shitload of time spent with not much to show for it. It's shown that people who have a long history of loving up seem to be immune to learning lessons that stick on how they hosed up. It's shown that it can do less with more than any of its "rivals" that have already managed to release their games, then iterate new content on top of it to expand their game's scope. Nearly 500 people but they're still trying to hire for key positions. Studios across the world that come in to do shows and talk about their thought-bubbles more than any actual things that are happening.

All that Star Citizen is going to change is the name and subject of the caution story told to people getting into the industry. "Don't be a Star Citizen" the catch-phrase when someone starts trying to come up with features that extend out the scope of a game and everyone else wants to reign them in.

But also, I think what nobody has realized to date is that these alien life forms are all mocap'd using real alien life forms. You thought Croberts has been wasting backer money? You want financial clarity? Don't you think it'll blow your minds when you realize Croberts established contact with actual literal space aliens, mocapped them and put them into this amazing game?

I mean, how else do you expect the game to have aliens if Croberts is true to high fidelity and mocap? It's all real, commandos.

It is insane yes. The diabolic logic goes through backers realizing that only by pledging more can they get a game at all. It is an abhorrent, all or nothing, with no middle ground, blackmail of backer´s will. It is more money AND the BDSSE, or face the abyss of failure.
