The problem with first person only is that as it stands, the first person in pubg is some janky poo poo where it just puts your camera in front of your player model's face, so everything is kinda floaty and laggy. It's worse than Arma's first person even. They need to change it before they make first person only an option.

Solo win #4 and man does it feel good, I've been chasing it for 2 days. Got 2 3rd and a 2nd place yesterday and a 5th place a few games ago. Got it in the dumbest way too. Drove my dacia around in circles during the 2nd to last phase and managed to run a guy over then parked it on the edge of the circle. Then during the last phase I got in and drove around in circles to find where the last 2 guys were shooting me from, skidded behind a tree and popped them both with a silenced UMP.

So considering it's early access how bad is the lag and graphics optimizations. My computer basically plays B1 and Wildlands on Medium to High at a 45 to 60fps, but those were also finished games vs EA.

I dunno if I agree with the latter here but I think if you can run those games on medium you can probably run PUBG. Worst case you buy it on steam, check it out, and then refund if you're not satisfied with your performance.

I run an i7 with 16 gigs and a 960 on an SSD and i reliably get 50-60 FPS at 1980*1050 with everything but shadows on High, and those on medium. There is a weird effect where it only seems to shade things in maybe a 50 meter radius around me but the frame rate is stable with dips during the chute drop

Boy, I'm not going to underestimate hiding in bushes again. I crawled up to one on a mountaintop and the only reason I realized someone was already inside it was because I couldn't enter it myself. They must have been scoped in because they didn't notice me until I shot them point-blank.

Finally won a solo game, after having 20% top-10 finishes across ~30 matches. Got pretty lucky with the circle at the end, and had a few close-calls where I almost got shot out of my car twice (down to ~20% HP while driving both times), but managed to hold on. I really do think the RNG for circle luck in very late game (last ~10 people) is ridiculous. Everyone camps behind hard cover that late, so who wins is mostly determined by who gets flushed out by the circle moving vs not. If you're forced to move from cover, you are almost certain to get shot in the open. If you get to sit behind a tree and pick people off who get forced out, you will almost surely win. Hopefully they find a way to reduce the RNG late game, but otherwise this game is super fun still.

Picked this up today, and I've been having a blast so far. Got into the final 3 on one round, but was outsniped in the end. Is anyone else getting a lot of screen tearing? I know, EA, but if I can fix it I'd like to.

Prone in grass/bushes basically makes you invisible at medium range, just don't try to pull it when scopes are around

Been playing on the US servers a lot latley and in general it is better. Compared to the OC servers there is about 90% less people screaming racist poo poo constantly. Also I have yet to come across one hacker or teaming in solo. Went back for a game on the Aussie server and first game the plane was filled with people screaming N***** and came across 2 different teaming groups. Aussie servers are a loving cesspit.
