Yeah I thought it was just a stylized signifier that something hosed up the cognitive self. We see blood only in Persona Awakenings for the party (and only Joker/Ryuji/Ann/Yusuke) and when Joker gets shot.

Yeah he most likely did because he was an evil bastard.

I was more curious about how he was able to affect the more "normal" people he targeted, like the train conductor, truck drivers, and random restaurant employees that you see in the news all the time.

Like he would have had to enter their name into the app to see if they had a Palace, learn enough about the person to figure out what their keywords were, then go into their palace with nobody noticing him (which would be kind of hard, since he's like a celebrity)

Or he went into Mementos and found their shadow there, which might be even harder since he doesnt have a magic cat car that can magically locate specific targets.

For Mementos boss farming, is there any way to make it go by faster? They don't always throw money away (maybe 1/6th of the time) and confusion wears off pretty quickly.

Sae had one over basically severe work stress, so Palaces are probably somewhat common.

Get some kinda Invigorate on it through Gallows so you can replace your SP Adhesive with a luck-boosting accessory. If you haven't already, put Metatron in the chair for a +5-to-everything gun for Joker. Remove all your teammates from the active party so you don't have to guard through all of their actions every turn.

There's an accessory you can buy at the casino that gives +10 to luck

Unfortunately, I'm right at the first Mementos boss, so I can't remove anyone from my party yet. It's not too bad, though.

Who fortunately drove the train their assassination target was on? Seems a bit farfetched. Since Palaces are a offshoot of the collective unconscious (Mementos) given special form as its own realm it seems rather likely you could simply kill people in the Mementos to have the mental shutdown effect.

I love by the way how they still manage to incooperate Jungian stuff in new ways 5/6 games in.

Not saying it didn't happen, but in my first playthru, I specifically looked out for anything that said that train accident killed anyone. It totally had to, but all anyone says is "Yo a train derailed". I could have missed something but I feel 50 - 200 people dying in a train accident would have come up somewhere and maybe taken more than like 12 hours to resolve

Akechi just needed to cause a high-profile infrastructure accident so that Shido could rail on the current administration. That opens up his choice of potential targets a lot more.

Akechi might have used Mementos, but judging by the twins' shock at the protag appearing there before the NG+ boss fight (and the fact that it's Yaldabaoth's domain) I'm pretty sure no one was actually supposed to know about that place. The Thieves were only aware of it because of Morgana.

Akechi and Joker were both Yaldabaoth's tools, it's just that one wanted to smash society and the other wanted to rehabilitate it. I don't think he'd want either of them near the Grail.

Joker was always Igor's piece in the game. Yaleabaoth took over from Igor to help him rig the game. Also despite what Akechi said, it was quite clear that he was totally fine with a corrupt society as long as he was on top.

He made it pretty clear he was just helping Shido into becoming a keystone in society so he could yank it out at a crucial moment.

I mean, he got outplayed on account of being a moron, but his intentions weren't ambiguous.

I mean, in the Fast and Furious world, you can murder a bunch of people, including people close to the main characters, and still be invited to a barbecue once you do a Good Thing, so it would work out pretty well

Don't look down on the cat. Morgana is incredibly skilled with tools and is the obvious choice for mechanic. He can teach Joker how to make an unbreakable lockpick and smokebombs and fireworks and mini-nukes and weapons that somehow deal psychic damage. He is a master in his craft.
