OK so Briscon and Operation Molten Storm all wrapped up after 2 days. Was a really good time and the whole venue was packed!

Here are the some of the army pics for some sexy painted hams porn, wish I had taken more :saddowns:

Traitors took the planet in the end and I walked away with most points total after 1 draw and 4 wins. The whole event and all plethora of other things happening at the con was really awesome as well as the cool vibe from all the peeps there. The lads organising the event took something like 15gigs worth of photos so hopefully those will get posted somewhere soon. Can't wait for the Oblivion Eye of Horus podcast Centurion event in a month! pure infantry smashing each other apart and maybe the podcast lads can call me out for a rematch after beating them this weekend :science:

Can do buddy, Been building a Traitor Mech army for about a year now. Originally went full retard Scoria Cyber spam but yeah..... its mean as hell. Really have fell in love with a not cyber list recently and will be building both a pure thallax and a pure mymidon army. The list I took to Briscon was whipped up in about two weeks as I hadn't decided to go until the last minute! I punched out the majority of the big items painting in a long weekend and its only table top ready and still has lots of detail to go.

So this was the list:
1x Crazy melee Malagra Magos with jump pack and 4 Cyber-Occularis. The Cybers were amazing granting interceptor and stopping infiltrators, plus late game I used them as charge blockers and funneling enemy movements. Seriously jet packing these little fuckers right up in peoples faces forces them to change their movement/charges/shooting. You can absolutely cause whole deathstars to divert charges or movement in tight spaces because these little fuckers get in the road.
2x Thallax squads with ferrox and chain blades
1x Ursarax with half and half claws and fists
1x Hoplites in a Traiarios. These are disgustingly good.......like really mean and was the first time I had run them, will only be taking 10 man units after this event because haywire and BS5 + hitting on 5s or 6s with overwatch was cruel.
2x single units of Vultarax. Also the first time I had run these as I literally just painted them. They were only good in the last two games mostly because people were rolling allot of 4+ saves against them because I was trying to wreck Knights or Leviathans
1x Myrmidons, these either got focused down immediately or really reaped some body counts. I ran them with volktes and a irradiation engine for maximum marine killing.
1x Atrapos, this sucker rolled a couple of ones every match and hurt himself allot but also dropped 4 clutch vortexes. I used him and the bees for distractions mostly as people would just panic and focus on them hardcore. Mostly they died but its worth it if your sitting on the objectives at the end of the match and the opponent is not.

Had lots of fun and will be really keen for some more events this year, can do some more trip reports if you goons want? have some pics of the army

Yes it most certainly is currently bro, this is why the Emperor blessed us with the Centurion mode! no transports or tanks, 0-1 monstrous creatures, thud guns and leviathans. poo poo is legit good fun and looks thematic as gently caress, well that and Zone Mortalis which is heavily played here in Brisbane thankfully. Here is a pic of Tim and I smashing said transports into each other in a tank shock frenzy because why not!

That's a picture of our very own Killer_Bees! beating Eye of Horus Tim. Admech on Admech action at it's best. Dark mech best mech.

You took a solid list and I'm not surprised you did so well. Cyber-Occularis are really strong right now since most marine armies are taking deep striking or outflanking infantry choices (vet spam, tee hee). Admech also has the easiest access to haywire in the game. It is interesting that the aussie 30k scene has become probably the best in the world. It must have been combination of the crazy import fees on regular GW products and the large number of poisonous animals that made it happen.

Here in our northwest league of 6-8 people the meta is very infantry heavy. There's another group up here that another goon on here plays with which seems a bit more armored up.

Stop cupola'ing those balls and instead hang on to your butts, because Forge World is about to announce how they will poo poo everything up:

quote:

Since the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 was announced, we’ve had questions about the future of the Horus Heresy game. Warhammer 40,000 models from Forge World, as we already know, will get full rules for the new edition, but what about those games set in the bloody time of the Age of Darkness?

Well, we can let you all know today, Forge World will be talking about the future of Horus Heresy games at Warhammer Fest this year.

My buddy played a berserker heavy chaos list and just couldn't win because he'd set up charges, do the right things and then get blasted apart by bolter fire and then loving mauled in combat by a bunch of my regular dudes.

Somebody help me.

I just looked at my collection of Death Guard and went 'Yeaaahhh you know what, I think this is pretty much everything I'm going to want for the 14th'.

So now I'm thinking of starting Imperial Fists. One of the coolass Heresy-era color schemes with lots of black iron and yellow shoulderpads. Alexis Pollux, Pride of the Legion, lots of terminators, some vets, shitlots of dudes with combat shields. Likely going to build things around deep striking poo poo so instead of heavy vehicles I'll use a lot of specialized Dreadnoughts (to support more pods). Still going to get some plasma predators because I've always wanted a couple of them. And a Damocles Command Rhino at higher point levels to control the whole deep striking thing.

I was more thinking about the color scheme on the dude on the left here:

The 'black' being basically a brushed dark steel color. Pure yellow sounds to me like a good way to see if I can't commit seppuku with an airbrush, and this way I can more or less just dybrush the mini bodies and then paint the shoulders yellow.

Edit: I quite like this Unification Wars-era scheme:

You could probably do the black by painting them black, then drybrushing a dark dark dark steel color, followed by a slightly lighter steel, then washing them with a few coats of gloss nuln oil.

Damnit... now I want to paint some Fists :argh:

Thinking of a black prime, a Leadbelcher drybrush, a lighter Ironbreaker drybrush, and then a wash/spray of Nuln Oil. Possibly followed by a second light drybrush of Ironbreaker in spot areas. I could just spray the shoulderpads yellow, paint the rims, wash and highlight a bit, and glue them on afterwards.

Either way, it'll be a nice change from loving white armies. My Death Guard, my friend's Mechanicus, another friend's Menoth.. shoot me already

I hate that white either looks amazing or terrible. I was traumatized by a local players Black Templars (with white directly over black) and part of me never recovered.

Doing Emperor's Children along with World Eaters at least let's me produce something at a good tabletop standard that is not an insane amount of work.
