When you hear that Doc Rivers basically abandoned Austin growing up, you're like wow what a piece of poo poo that guy is. Then you see Austin on the court for about five minutes and you kinda start to get it.

From my hazy memory of that era I seem to remember Doc always being the one to whine to the refs. KG and his undirected anger was a much more influential behavioral example. I could be wrong and they all could have whined but that's what I remember

Jason Kidd wasn't a max player anymore at this point in his career which made his graceful aging a lot easier to stomach.

The Clippers are actually PG's team growing up, so that would be interesting. And since the Pacers ownership only cares about making money and barely making the playoffs, the Clips could probably send them enough flotsam and picks to prop them up without gutting their core.
