You can tell that was an earlier prototype of the Thamesbot. This incident led to the discovery that a hard hit to the Thamesbot in the right location would short circuit his AI programming to only harm baseballs. Luckily the fail safe kicked in mid way to the pitcher mound and the incident was played off as a funny joke.

Gibbons wants Archer suspended for throwing behind Bautista. I mean I kind of get it, but theres no way that actually happens right? There was no ejections, no bench "brawl", there wasn't even a HBP or further incidents later in the game. I guess you can argue that a guy with Archers control doesn't miss that badly unless he wants to but hey, its gotta happen once in a while. I dunno. Personally I think Archer was just "sending a message" and didn't intend to hit him. Which someone will point out that its still stupid to do because if you happen to slip you can hit someone in the face and obviously I agree with that. I dunno how you can prove that to the point where you suspend a guy over it especially if there wasn't actually anyone getting hit. They did suspend Barnes for something similar with Machado though so who knows

The Yankees put Chapman in to pitch the 10th, but wanted Mitchell to still be available for the 11th*, but he already pitched in the 9th. So they put Chapman in place of the DH and had Mitchell play 1B. Of course, the only reason they had to do this was because Girardi put Dellin in earlier in the game even though Mitchell was available. And Warren probably could have pitched too.

*He gave up 3 runs with help from some janky defense.

EDIT: I want Mitchell to figure it out because he has some really filthy stuff.

Sick picture! I'm definitely in - I've been the starting pitcher for all 4 of our team's games this year instead of kicking around left field so I should have more to talk about!

The only bad thing about Korean or Japanese Baseball: if you hate the length of current MLB then you are SOL because those two leagues' games commonly go over the three-hour markk.

The pros: the fans, the team names, the mascots, the uniforms, and if you live on the West Coast games start at 9 or 10 PM on Friday/Saturday night for your streaming pleasure.

BONUS PRO: Nippon Professional Baseball has Japhet Amdaor AKA "El Gigante de Mulegé" AKA "I clock in at 6'4" & 320 pounds and mash dingers".

Yep. Both parties are absolute idiots. Syndegaard is 24. He should probably take some sort of precautions to preserve his source of income. There's really nothing to say about the Met's medical staff that hasn't already been said.

THIS IS COOL

I just moved back to Kansas City after almost 20 years away and almost immediately after I got here one of my teammates from HS hit me up to see if I'd pitch for his team this summer which I am strongly considering. I played in a tournament last fall and actually played pretty well but goddamn that was some serious arm soreness.

Note: their normal SP threw THIRTEEN INNINGS in the majors and thus is by far the best player in the league.

And in a more outlandish premonition, Starlin Castro already has 7 walks this season and an 8.5% swinging strike rate so I'm declaring him totally fixed.

In a perfect world, Headly and Castro will crash back to earth right around the time that Bird and Sanchez pick up steam.

It's all part of the plan.
