English Zelda is the only actor that stands out as being really bad to me. It got to where I just took my headphones off whenever she was on screen. The King was the worst by far for me, it sounds like someone with zero VO experience

I don't really care if it's cheap or not- I'm actually pretty worried about Nintendo charging a service fee for online. There's so many disconnects spread around to various people on MK8 that it's genuinely unacceptable- along with latency issues and Nintendo Lag still out in full force I'm kinda down on it.

It seems like you can't play with randoms online in MK8 with a friend? Like you can if you're both local playing on the same switch but there doesn't seem to be a way to play with your friend online unless its JUST with your friends and bots.  Someone please tell me I'm missing something.

I was flying home from Prague yesterday, and played 2-player MK8 with a friend for part of the journey. It was a bit cramped but otherwise totally owned.

Matchmaking in "Global" or "Regional" seems to be only for Solo/Local. 1) Look for a tournament that fits your needs and is kinda active. 2) Player A joins the Tournament until he gets a room with enough slots left for everybody. 3) Other people join Player A through the Friends and Rivals Menu. It's not ideal, but it works OK for our 4-5 people groups. We are sitting in VoiP during this, so it's easy to coordinate.

Kinda bounced off of Shovel Knight at first, but I finished up the main campaign on the weekend and totally vibed on it. Definitely a great game and a perfect fit for the Switch. I've tried out Plague & Spector so far and am really enjoying Spector Knight's gameplay, it reminds me a bit of Megaman Zero, with the melee combat and boss portal. Plague Knight I have a lot of trouble controlling, almost feel like I'm missing something. He can absolutely shred enemies with the bombs but I feel like the platforming is really hit & miss because the burst, while predictable, is quite hard to control.

Those floating platforms make the triple-shot bows even more fun. 1-shotting all 3 balloons while midair is going to be very satisfying.

I wish the sword recharged at all times as well, not only after being totally drained of energy. It's annoying to go exploring for the better part of an hour only to encounter some chump, hit them twice, and have the Master Sword run out of energy mid-combo.

It's just another larger jump arc. Like you said, it's predicatable, so you just need to get used to using it and visualizing the arc and it'll just be a triple jump basically.

Of course, lobbies stay together for very short periods of time so this doesn't work that well. And most lobbies are full.
