i still stand by episode one (or zero or w/e they call it) of kyosougiga being totally unnecessary to the actual show. it's fun to look at but i don't remember it being assumed you knew anything from it

  Shimushu (占守) and Kunashiri (国後) were two of a quartet of escort ships built for the IJN just prior to WWII. The Japanese called these ships Kaibōkan (海防艦), "ocean defence ships", to denote a multi-purpose vessel. They were initially intended for patrol and fishery protection, minesweeping and as convoy escorts.

 Gangut (Гангут) was the lead ship of a class of four dreadnoughts built by the Imperial Russian Navy prior to WWI. She was named after a Russian victory over the Swedish navy in the 18th century. A hardy girl who served through four wars and three revolutions, Gangut spent most of WWI defending minefields and covering the deployment of new ones. She joined the Bolsheviks during the Russian revolutions and was named Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya (Октябрьская революция / October Revolution) after the second of them. Modernized in the '30s, she served in the Winter War and WWII, surviving several Luftwaffe bombing runs before providing artillery support during the siege of Leningrad and offensives surrounding it.

TP's biggest weakness imo was how very few of the cool items you got had uses outside of their own dungeon. I wanted to use the spinja and the boots more places, they were fun.

twilight princess is ocarina of time but with worse pacing and duller to look at and the most irrelevant zelda it's not bad but it's very underwhelming imo. there are long stretches where it feels like you're not really doing anything particularly interesting

^Both true. I'd definitely recommend other Zelda games over TP. But that doesn't make it a bad game, so much as a less good one.

i mean both TP and SS were more interesting to me than what i played of Darksiders and later saw it do. they're more aesthetically appealing and the mechanical highs are better than having a solid baseline that's just built wholesale on other games anyway.

yeah for all of tp's issues i did end up playing way more of it than i ever did or have felt like doing of darksiders and if i have to pick between the two i'll probably finish tp first
