Glass was on for the morning skate as well but came off first It's not like teh Rangers played sooo poorly last game they just poo poo it up defensively after scoring 5 goals so maybe the problem isn't to insert a lovely player to throw big hits for "more energy"

Kawalimus posted:I was on the plane coming home last night right when it landed someone said "The Caps are up 2-0 with 3 mins left" and I thought oh good there will still be a series. Then I saw this morning it went to overtime. What the christ. Thank god I missed that. But come on Caps please win game 2. It would be so amazing if the caps came back from 2-0! The perfect way to finally beat Pittsburgh! Kawalimus posted:That's not what people told me before the series. They win game 4 and it's anyone's series. I've seen the Caps blow 2-0 series leads many times so it's very possible. Are you feeling ok? You seem more optimistic than normal.

Crosby getting concussed while the Pens are on the verge of having a good shot at a repeat is the most Pens thing ever. If they hadn't won last year I'd be a lot more upset but as it is oh well. They've still got a pretty good chance given they've got at least two more home games.

The capitals barely eked out a win over a Sid-less, Letang-less, Murray-less, Sheary-less team. Pens still have the series. I hope Sid is long-term okay though

With the way MAF has been playing, I don't think you get to add goaltending to the 'we don't have our top players' rhetoric. Letang, Sid and Sheary are fair game but let's not pretend you'd be getting better goaltending from Murray than you have from Flower

It's naive to think the Pens still have this series. I think it goes to game 7, but without Letang and Crosby I don't see the Pens pulling a rabbit out of a hat. I would love to be wrong, but Crosby has been an enormous factor in this series (and the one against Columbus). The Caps smell blood, and as fun as it is to joke about that team, I can't imagine they don't have a huge game tomorrow. With the series tied 2-2 heading back to Washington, I think the teams trade wins in games 5 and 6 and the Caps carry the play in game 7. It sucks that over the past decade it's been injuries doing the most damage to the Pen's cup chances, as opposed to the team they are playing (+ whatever the gently caress that one year against the flyers was. Still the most bizarre modern day playoff series I've ever been witness to).

Spring Break My Heart posted:The only playoffs they were really hurt for was this year and 2011, which seems pretty normal over the course of 11 years. Coupled with the "if my team wasnt currently the Cup champions" bit it's an obnoxious thing to say about your team that has experienced an absurd amount of luck and which is the 2nd most successful team of the past decade and the 2nd most successful team since the beginning of the 90's. It could be worse is a dumb argument and I hate when people make it. If that's the way you think things should go then nobody should post except Coyotes fans.

A team in the playoffs that lost their #1 center and #1 goalie? Now, where have I seen this before? Oh that's right, that's how the Pens got to the finals last year.

Yeah I'm bummed out but teams that go all the way tend to get the breaks (bones or otherwise) in their favor so CAS might as well embrace this really being their year.

If the Caps somehow come back and win the Stanley Cup there will always be an asterisk next to it (I'll still take it). It really does suck that Crosby's brain will probably be mush in 20 years.

I actually think the Pens are still good enough to win the cup if the can somehow get past Washington. But that's mostly because the rest of the playoff pool is resoundingly weak.
