I'm starting to really hate Horse teams in arena. Playing against them feels like a gamble - either I get a map where they can't gang up on me, or I get a +5 Reinhardt shoved up my rear end.

I pulled a 3* +SPD -HP Setsuna the other day and thought "You know what, I haven't done enough dumb poo poo in this game yet, I'm gonna try to make her great." So I've been leveling her up, and because I forgot to put any other skills on her (and then decided to not bother until I know what I want), I've been doing it with only her Steel Bow equipped.

Steelsuna is now up to 4* level 27 and has 2344 SP. Incidentally, Azama has also been raking in the points because he has to heal her like five times per battle. This is a foolish endeavor.

Hell get dropped to pretty low hp, but if you can clear xander and the red soldier for him afterwards, he can step up and kill the horse mage because its inside the clerics attack range and the cleric will block the axe soldier from attacking as long as the cleric has a target it can hit

I never really grasped how much SP you get grinding a unit up from 3 star until i trained the pegisisters up for the event and promoted Catria to 4*. She's got so much loving SP now that I feel almost obligated to take her the rest of the way. When she get's to 5 she's gonna have leftover SP because her base kit is already pretty good.

fake edit: I also drew a 5* Hinoka on the Hero Fest banner. I was initially disappointed because I thought it would be an Azura, but I've already got a Ninian I love and Hinoka's my first 5* flier unit, which is probably more important.

Also the hero battle this time around actually took me a couple tries! it was mainly because I didn't realize the mounted mage had gronwolf, but it still threw me off!

How I would build Arthur is to accentuate his strengths, which is physical bulk. Because of that give him DIstant Counter, as it would would be extremely good on him as well considering his absurd defense stat and overall bulk. The only thing that's a downside to him is his low-ish resistance and his propensity for being doubled. Because of his doubling issues that's why we give him it to follow up on doubles. If you don't have Distant Counter Fury 3 is pretty good. Give him Axebreaker 3 or Lancebreaker 3 as well and close it up with Threaten Atk 3 to give him the ability to tank more effectively. You can use the Emerald Axe on him but quite frankly I prefer a Silver Axe+ or even a Carrot Axe if you have an extra one lying around.

The ideal IV for Arthur is +ATK -RES since he can handle an attack or two against Mages anyway. Either that or -HP. +DEF is pretty great as well. Arthur can be a very surprising hero to come up against since most people would think to build him as a Blue specialist but I think he has a little more versatility than that.

Bring a character that can reposition or drawback Reinhardt. Combined with a dancer and your Ryoma to absorb a green hit, you should be able to just pick off the opponents.

With what you have:
Ryoma, Reinhardt, Camilla, Azura
Teach either Reinhardt or Ryoma a movement skill (either Draw Back or Reposition)
Camilla kills the Lancer, Azura dances, and Ryoma moves her out of harm's way.

Then Ryoma baits the green mage, and after that it's just mopup.

As above, you can give Camilla's job to Reinhardt, and then you can bring a reposition/draw back-er separately.

I used a combination of Dance and Draw Back. My two were Nino and Ninian but I highly recommend these two skills if you're having trouble. I nuked someone on the first turn. I forget who. He was on the left, then Dance, Draw Back. Second turn I had Nino gank the green mage since he's a problem, then shoved Sharena at Xander. Didn't kill him but neither the cleric nor the other sword dude were in any position to make me care. Eirika also stepped up to help body-block. Both of them have Swordbreaker 2, for the record.

I beat both difficulties on my first try.

I just had Zephiel and Linde facetank and nuke respectively (with a little help from Ninian and Anna).

A bunch of other people have endorsed some strategies that should work for you - it's hard to go very wrong with a Dance/Drawback or Dance/Reposition hit and run tactic, though.

I beat it first go with Ike/Effie mainly. I would try Ryoma/Reinhart/Takumi (partially cuz Draw back can get people out of the way)/Olivia.

What happens if you move Ryoma one square down and one square left of the Swordsman on the right? When I do that with Ike he survived the swordsman, One hit the green mage, then killed the swordsman next round. Reinhart with the help of Olivia should be able to run through Xander and the Spearman at that point.

Does that Tiki have distant counter with her weapon? I can't remember, could try with her instead of Ryoma. Let me know! We can make this work.

This was my team:
(As an aside, does anyone have ideas for C skill/Special/Support skill for Kagero? Along with YTiki and Ephraim she's probably the best unit not on my A team and I kind of want to try out a different A team.)

I used Nino to snipe the blue lance dude and then Repositioned her out with Eirika. The healer, the green mage, and Xander all attacked her but Eirika lived through all of it. Then Effie and Nino killed off Xander, Eirika killed green mage, and Kagero killed healer, then sword man died to Effie.

In general, I think the easiest way to do it is to snipe one of the infantry and then reposition/draw back/dance everyone out of range and move from there.

How important is desperation for the ultimate Hana build? Because I don't know how quickly I can farm up all that SP even with the double SP event going on (she is already level 40 and I had to blow most of the available SP on Wo Dao + and am out of lower rank Hanas to merge).

I think my main block was I was using Azura, but when I danced someone out, she was left vulnerable. I'll put Draw Back on YTiki or something and see if Dancer and Draw Back works.

Goad/Fortify buffs will expire at the end of your turn, and she's no longer next to the fliers carrying them. She's also decently ahead of the rest of her team, so just fall back and bait her. At best she'll get a singular extra buff, as I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of those units is carrying a Rally skill.

Florina being danced by Olivia would be the real issue.

Tangentially related to this, you know what would be an awesome feature?

If you could save a snapshot of a battle, turning it into a code. Then anyone could copy it into their game and it would load up that battle at that exact point, and you could play it out like a puzzle.

The answer is to back up and leave Julia in range. Buffs wear off and Julia should be able to take the hit and kill her through vantage on player phase.

I gave my Kagero Ardent Sacrifice and Fury (I know you didn't ask about A) to make sure I trigger Vantage. I'm not really sure on C/special, but with Fury I'll probably leave the default unless I get way more SP on her.
