Luann

How Luann and Jack/Jock are "doing it"

1. Jock hits on Luann, and also every other girl he sees
2. Luann turns him down
3. Jock keeps hitting on Luann, and also every other girl he sees continually forever
4. Luann keeps turning him down continually forever
5. Luann attempts to slut shame Tiff while simultaneously rubbing Tiff's nose in how sought-after Luann is by mankind by giving Jock a call
6. Tiff tells Jock Luann wants a date even though Luann does not want a date. Luann only accepts out of a fear of awkwardness
7. Jock and Luann go to the dog park. Jock also dates Tiff, because she is a girl and he saw her.

Truly a love for the ages

She had a boyfriend waaaay back in the day, I think his name was Zayne? They broke up eventually but I forget why, possibly something to do with pot

e: wiki says Zane, nothing noted about pot. Also Bernice asked him to marry her because she was insanely jealous of his interactions with other girls. Pot guy was a different character

Yeah somehow this seems worse than the beginning of the ant/volcano storyline and the cave one. But come to think of it the ant/volcano storyline started with that couple on the yacht that went for a week or two and was never really explained (I assume they were responsible for the ant invasion), followed by a week or two of rock climbing.

I don't really remember how the cave one started. Something about smugglers?

Human traffickers and/or coyotes (it was never really made clear) that inexplicably had dynamite on hand interrupted some research on white nose disease in the local bat population and trapped them in the cave.

Yes, a normal, loving family. Except the little kid is for some reason spending several days with the neighbour's son and drunk dad dressed for roleplay

On that note it's a little weird the dad is all "I am having a shot of vodka unlike these kids!" since Dustin is a college grad. This is a very minor kvetch.

That will never be canon but it does make a lot more sense than they are just buddies. They do kind of present those strips like young parent strips.

Something sticks in my mind that the strip has alluded to Dustin being the kid's Big Brother. Dustin as his dad makes a lot of sense, though.

That's... I don't know, this comic just has a way of dialog that makes no sense. It seems that the author WANTS to tell a joke, or something resembling one. But has no idea of subtlely, art or nuance.

Wife: Here, standing husband, I will give you 10 dollars for no reason.
Daughter: I will take those ten dollars from you.
