Norns posted:Has any teammate spoke positively about Lewis after spending time with him? Same comments you'd see from M Schumacher's team mates. No praise on a personal level just respect for what he could do. Or Barrichello who constantly implied how poo poo it was to be Michael's team mate and who promised to write a tell-all book about his time at Ferrari with Mixhael but probably won't anymore cause of Schumacher's state. The only one who loved Michael and learned everything he could from him was Felipe who Michael grew to have quite the fondness for like someone who HAD to adopt that particular dog in a shelter cause of the way he looked at you. Wait are we still talking about Lewis or Michael? Anyway, the common theme you'll find with all these dominating personalities since Senna/Prost is that as long as you accept you're the number 2 and stay quiet then all is good. Irvine, Berger, Massa with MSC, Patrese...

Seb would not have been able to get around anyway. Mercedes still has the better drive down the straights. It's just a poo poo track.

How is it that Button had such good relationships with his teammates? He's not on the same level as Hamilton or Alonso but he certainly never acted like a second driver.

Yeah Lewis does tend to get hosed on ~mindgames~, the way he was asking about whether Bottas had similar issues and was prickly about being told where frogboy was behind him, armchair psychologist I know, but seems like he's more focused on others than his own race. That historically has not worked out well for him.

He probably doesn't understand that people like Bottas can't play mind games. He'll assume that Bottas is playing next-level mind games and it'll drive him insane. He'll mind game himself.

I still think Nico would've been great this year. The way he drove the back half of last year was super conservative and I think with one championship under his belt he would've taken a few more risks and probably would've been able to match Lewis more often.

He was kind of punchy about his time with Michael on a Sky F1 documentary, but not in a conceited rear end in a top hat kind of way and freely admitted the limits of his talent. Just that level of frank honesty you expect from an Ulsterman.

It doesn't always have to degrade to Nico/Lewis levels. I think they could have competed with each other fairly, and maybe gotten pissed from time to time, but probably gotten over it soon enough. JFC, this is getting too close to Nando/Jense fanfic. Post over.

This is a driver who, rather than die in a glorious accident, nearly shuffled off his mortal coil from swallowing his loving tongue lmao.

Both Porsche and Toyota have said there's no room for Alonso in 2018 for le mans. Porsche says they have no room as all 6 of their drivers are contracted for next season and Toyota could potentially accommodate him but they have no interest in a big name driver and consider their own driver line up to be balanced. So it's gonna be weird to see Alonso in a Toyota in 2018 lol

He lost all credibility when he accused the team of trying to sabotage him. I understand that his psyche was rattled after his years at Ferrari, but Button just proved that Rubens was a No2 driver and nothing more.
