The one about the airlines charging for use of the oxygen masks was pretty good. Stopped clocks and all that, I guess. I can't help but read them, because it's so, so obvious that Batiuk fully expects latter-day Funky to be his legacy, and I would bet any amount of money that he's imagined getting the Fantagraphics "complete series in well-designed and meticulously appreciative volumes" treatment, but it's just not a very good comic strip at all.

B.C. makes its second "We're all gonna die soon" joke this week: Baldo Wizard of Id Big Nate I don't know if it's intentional, but I like how Pierce has timed it that Nate doesn't appear in Sunday strips during this storyline, so we don't get the awkward on-model Nate in the middle of a story where he's bald. Wallace the Brave and a wall o'random Wallace Curtis I mean..... yes? I must admit, there's something weirdly charming about Billingsley being so divorced from the times that he accidentally writes Curtis' dad as a massive loving hipster rather than a curmudgeonly middle aged guy.

Star Trek Terrorizing civilians? Kidnapping a baby? Threatening torture on Kirk? Openly planning to rough up McCoy and Sulu? No big. Stealing a boat? THAT TEARS IT!! Masters of the Universe Some last meteor riding, for fans of that sort of thing. Granted, not as satisfying as watching him ride it, like, a hundred feet, but still appreciated. And so ends "Day of the Comet," the first arc in the Newspaper He-Man strip! There will be more to come some time in the future that I don't want to commit to! In the meantime, if you'd like to relive the whole beautiful saga from the beginning, here's a link to the imgur gallery: http://imgur.com/a/H0mWG
