Well if they under-engineered it, some dickhead would put their joycon through their TV and sue Nintendo; so I reckon Nintendo pretty much had their gut-full of it last time and don't want to deal with the potential lawsuits.

Apparently Disney was the leader but then decided to pull the plug on their whole lineup for some odd reason. Nintendo now dominates the entire category.

Try out accelerating with Y if you haven't. I have average sized hands but I couldn't play with the Joy-Cons until I figured it out. Holding A doesn't feel cramped at all, but something about that position makes my whole right hand go numb after about 15 minutes.

Yea, accelerating with Y and just sinking your thumb to brake (B) feels good, especially in 200cc where you may or may not need to do lots of intermittent braking while drifting. Joy-cons are agreeable to me, but if I can play with the Pro controller, I much prefer it.

I feel like Disney tried to push figures of their new poo poo no one wanted like The Good Dinosaur rather than capatilizing on their classic and universally beloved characters. People complain about it being hard to find Pit or Wii Fit trainer or whatever but at least those are stupid niche characters only hardcore fanboys are after. Hard to find a Link Amiibo? There's like ten different Link Amiibo! How many of each should they make?

The thing with Nintendo characters is that (aside from maybe the glut of Animal Crossing amiibo) every single one of them has fans who will fork over money to buy it. Especially when most of them have no other similar merchandise, like Shulk or Olimar. As for the Links, everyone has their own personal favourite Legend of Zelda game and Link to go with it. I've already preordered a Majora's Mask Link  .

Now I hold A for the start boost and then let go for the rest of the race and my hands feel wonderful.

The biggest problem with the Animal Crossing amiibo were that they made games because they made amiibo, and not the other way round. The Animal Crossing amiibo are actually hella nice for what they are, it's just a bummer they decided to make a boring side game and a lovely boardgame the front and centre of everyone's memory of them, and not the actual main series usage they added a year or two later.

I mean it was a cool idea when it started but eventually too many people in a market will ruin it and I don't think any of them actually integrated the toys into gameplay as well as Skylanders supposedly did (I say supposedly since I've not actually played any of them).

The Pro controller sealed the Switch for my SO, she didn't like the Joycons.
