The Lib Dems, Labour and the SNP are all mutually toxic to various degree (the Lib Dems are big in Tory areas because they're not just a front for Labour, for example). Announcing anything like that before the election wouldn't be very helpful imo.

Two hours until the BBC gives May 20 minutes of prime time tv where the most serious political question she will face will probably come about Eurovision. The one show has been getting some criticism over this, and after their dismissive comments at the weekend about how they would be happy to have "Mr and Mrs Corbyn" on the show in the future tonight they've revealed that they will be announcing tonight their plans for engagement with the other political parties on tonights show.

Liberals will side with the fascists before the socialists every time. Spuckuk posted:Or the painting blood on your cheeks from the dead fox if it's your first hunt.. Zephro posted:So Corbyn was asked half a dozen times by Laura Kuenssberg whether Brexit would still happen if Labour won and he dodged the question every time. I get the impression Labour are trying to be clever by being all things to all people on Brexit and creating what they imagine is useful ambiguity so that both Remainers and Leavers will feel they can vote for them. But it isn't working - they just look like idiots and/or crypto-Leavers who don't have the courage to say so out loud. I wouldn't be surprised if Corbyn refuses to give Kuenssberg a straight answer to any question ever again.

On the Corbyn not clarifying whether we would still leave the EU under him in the event of 'a bad deal'. It is surely that he, nor any other leader, could never admit that this was remotely their position as in the event of their win, then Europe would refuse to budge on anything, charge a zillion dollars and then point to the demonstration of British public opinion that it was best to stay in if the deal was bad. Making the whole thing a waste of everyone's time. Unless of course it is assumed by everyone involved in the negotiations that anything said in an election campaign stays in an election campaign. Of course I don't think at this point anyone taking that position would win anyway so... yeah.

As for the Lib Dems they ruled out any Labour coalition on their end, which is hardly surprising because the two parties don't really have anything in common. indeed. looking at the SDLP, the Cooperative Party, and the Liberal Democrats it's not hard to see why Labour have long running successful electoral agreements with 2 of the 3.
