NTTE is extremely useful for PVE, especially on a boss like Sepiks where half the hitbox is a big crit spot. You never have to reload or stop firing.

They learned the wrong lessons, but many times developers "forget" what they experienced and they start from different roots. Bungie seems to have this idea of "weapons must feel good" that is the right idea, is a theme that is hard to combine with a RPG style.

Is the PvP community on PS4 still active from a goon standpoint? Reminded myself of how trash Halo 5's multi was last night, but it did remind me of how much I enjoyed Destiny's. Former Lighthouse visitor with random publords.

The problem with the RPG thing is that a two handed sword in an RPG does some white damage but mostly carries stats that increase the power of your class abilities whereas the guns in an FPS are entirely functional. The current perk setup can make one gun objectively better than another. The guns feel good because of the underlying game engine but the random performance perks are a huge part of what drives the loot grind and so probably won't change.

RE: PS4: I'm around a lot, and many other goons are as well. A mere week or so ago we were able to organize a pickup Vault run in fairly short order. Try the Private Game Servers Destiny thread for greatest success, it's fairly responsive.

Bad Juju is better than NTTE in every conceivable way. NTTE is pretty fun though. It just needs some tweaks.

Juju owns for everything except some boss fights but I usually run the wotm machine gun for pve anyway and it owns.

Nah the if materia was always recognized as one of the best wrath guns. For PVE at least, don't think it works well in crucible. You can mag dump into a boss for a very, very long time with it.

You can just dump a full mag of if matera and switch to spindle. Repeat for the next phase and you're done. Works fine on atheon and askis, works fine for any strike boss too. I've never been on the bottom damage wise crankin that strat.

Did Bungie turn off SBMM for Iron Banner this time around? I'm getting crazy high k/d in these matches but half the players are going wildly negative and I'm not sure how you do that when your super's up every minute or so.

I have a feeling they didn't stress test mayhem ib or something because every match had mystery bullshit lag and visual glitching last night (big sample size of 4 matches). Anyhow, loadout was golden gun, double tripmines, high impact scout for killing other golden guns out of their supers, sidearm for whatever else. I couldn't throw stickies fast enough. What a dumb mode. The most fun for me is that I could just hide in a well trafficked corner with stickies surrounding me and date the other team to try and flush me out. Almost always had GG for when they'd try it with other roaming supers. Was a decent gimmick

NLB and thorn are legit options too. Only downside is it means you can't use sleeper. Basically guns don't matter, use whatever makes you happy.

When you finish a match and go back to orbit where it resets the matchmaking and says "we're breaking up those teams to find a better match" or whatever, is that where it moves you into a higher/lower skill bracket?

That's when the spread in the game was too high (but not high enough to trigger mercy). Your skill gets changed after every match and Bungie doesn't seem to use brackets.
