I think Muscat hosed his team over by not using any subs in normal time. I think it let Sydney control the last 30 minutes and get themselves into the game, and massively changed the momentum.

I can sort of see his thinking with trying to persist with rojas, even bes looked like he was still giving it a go right up til the ending but surely you make the call to go all out with pacey energetic types who might feed a ball in. Can't say I had too much faith in either austin or Ingham being the hero, but having a fit Bernie ibini on either side would have been a winner in regular time I'd say

I think he had awesome strategy in the first half, but didn't do anything once it started to turn after that. Sydney came out much more structured, and once they had control it looked like they were going to get the goal back. With no fresh blood or ideas coming on Melbourne didn't look like they had a goal in them. They only started looking dangerous again in the 2nd extra time when Sydney tired.

I didn't mind that season. Mariners were less poo poo and with *things afoot* may challenge again after a couple of years not going broke by running youff plus a few old guys. My highlight would be Spooncastle. But nice to see Danny and Wilko are not cursed when it comes to championships after all.

I'm just happy the year is over so I can go back to not caring when we inevitably lose a bunch of games early next year. I'm not used to following a winning team and the pressure of actual expectation was unbearable.

this season was good but not great, tbh i can't feel too crushed about not winning the toilet seat because 1. the league is more important anyway and 2. sydney were actually just a much better team this season, i had no pretensions of us winning it until bes scored im looking forward to us replacing georgevski with a left footed left back again tbh
