I was thinking the exact same thing haha, had to turn off the video.

That said I fired up the album on Spotify and I'm enjoying it. Musically much more interesting to me than the "Slaughter to Prevail" that I was giving a whirl.

Except after the intro track which leads directly into the next one, where Spotify decided to interject a really loud and sudden "MOTHER'S DAY BLAH BLAH BLAH" which was pretty great timing.

Blows my mind to even say this, but I might be looking forward to the new Eighteen Visions album. This and Oath are solid tracks.

I need to check out the new 18V ASAP, I forgot all about those dudes. I seen them open for KSE in 2004 (maybe 2005) in New Haven and that show was 100% off the chain. My friend got a concussion and I broke a tooth!

For whatever reason, I tend to only buy vinyl when it comes to hardcore/thrashy stuff like the new Incendiary or bands like Young and in the Way. I just preordered this Oceano though. All three songs are too good to pass up. Artwork is crazy, too.

That new Oceano track is hellaciously heavy, I'm into it

On a Bro note I love the new Obey the Brave song. The way Alex worked singing into the sound works real well.

Yep. Bad rear end. The other pre-release they put out on this one is good too. Rest comes out June 2. Can't wait to hear it all.

PSA: It's new Oceano day. Just finished my first play. There's one or two on here that are at least as solid as Lucid Reality, if not better. The closer is fuckin powerful. Check it out. Apple Music link is https://itun.es/us/Jt0Vib or just search I guess on the other ones.

Holy poo poo why did nobody ever tell me about Bird Eater, the *other* band that emerged from Gaza breaking up (though they technically predate Gaza). I love Cult Leader but they're basically just continuing Gaza's sound without the vocalist. Bird Eater is way more technical and has Jon Parkin on vocals, but they don't get the same attention.

Right but nobody talked about them then either, is what I am saying. I had no idea they ever existed until recently. Cult Leader's full length has 10 times as many ratings on RYM in a shorter period of time, for example.

Oddly enough, the new Oceano as a whole isn't doing as much for me as the individual tracks had been, and certainly not making me feel that "i gotta take a poo poo" mean mug face that the last album did.

It's... good? It's just not immediately impressing me as much as I thought it would.

Super hype on new Obey the Brave record on Friday.

Also, I sort of forgot Remembering Never were a thing (I enjoyed WACDF and God Save Us a lot), and Spotify notified me they put out a tape in 2013 called This Hell is Home. It's actually pretty wild, really aggressive angry stuff, glad I stumbled on it.

Oh real? poo poo, I missed that one too, and I also played WACDF a ton. Gonna check that out now to hold me over to Friday. I'm extremely ready for that new Obey the Brave as well. :hfive:

Ha, well that would definitely have been the first thing I would've suggested. Also check out a new band (from my home county!) called Knocked Loose, if you haven't already. Their debut full length is total fire.

I'd say Gideon, For the Fallen Dreams, Liferuiner and maybe For Today could be up your alley.

Never heard Gideon and will try them, thanks. I'm familiar with the other three. FTFD have a couple of good albums and a couple of 'WTF' albums where I think they switched vocalists. Liferuiner are good for an occasional LOL when training. For Today are good in limited doses because I can only listen to so many songs about God before I kind of tune out. Devastator is a MONSTER track though.

e: Gideon are Christian too lol. Still gonna try them out.

I had no idea Gideon were Christian. Their last two albums loving slay so it doesn't make a difference to me. Their riffs and breakdowns make for great workout music.

I have no beef with Christian bands, just don't like the sole lyrical content to be about it. For Today are brutal about that.

I wouldn't have known August Burns Red were a Christian band except for the fact that the singer did the "kiss fingers and point up at God" thing after almost every song when I saw them

They still kick rear end though

Oh, Sleeper is another example of a band that is both good and Christian. Or at least they used to be. I don't follow as closely anymore, but Son of the Morning was a banger of an album. I'm an atheist, but I will GLADLY spin an album about God literally cutting Satan's horns off.
