Quit with the revisionist history BS. Kessel delivered exactly what was expected of him, the team around him was terrible and he (unfairly) bore the brunt of that criticism.

The final four teams present two very different possible outcomes. On the one hand we have the great outcome, with Nashville playing Pittsburgh in a fun and gun Cup final where PK and Phil get to battle it out. On the other hand, we have a loathsome Ottawa team facing the Anaheim Randy-and-Nonis Ducks. So much is at stake.

If the Preds don't win I'm basically tuning out of the playoffs, probably. No toxx because who knows I might be super bored one night and watch a few minutes but zero interest otherwise. I mean this isn't a news flash that I have some sort of opinion and others are super pumped about the outcome, but if I have to watch Pittsburgh and Anaheim play four or more games I have zero interest in that whatsoever. I just bought Factorio so maybe it'll be time to start giving Hockey the heave-ho for the summer early. real_scud posted:Come on now marty, how can you not love that you could see more of this stuff!? I don't know if this is a good place to tell this or if any place is, but last night I had an NHL related dream, which is extremely rare. In the dream Martin Brodeur, in devils jersey, was goaltending, except that he was standing in the end zone faceoff circle. He was also very old, like 70 or 80 years old, and was wearing a black beanie. At this moment some announcer voice explained that players older than 80 can wear beanies instead of helmets. Then someone shot a puck towards him from somewhere, and he sort of made a save, in the faceoff circle, but then hosed it up and the puck deflected from his stick into the goal and Brodeur was very sad. Then I woke up 6:45 AM to go somewhere I really did not want to go, and noticed that both teams that I wished to not win the hockey games during the night had in fact won their hockey games. :|

PAS: do you take a 2017 Stanley Cup if it somehow convinces management for whatever inconceivably stupid, albeit somewhat merited, reason to keep MAF and almost certainly lead Vegas to pick Murray? This, of course, assumes MAF continues in this inexplicable God Mode he's found for another eight wins in which the Pens do just enough to win and let him backstop the rest.

He seems to come up big for them when they need him, I think they take it. Plus, winnin' a cup is fuckin' sweet. Plus it's 2 more seasons after this. that's not that long and he'll be 34 by then. Pittsburgh should draft a goalie in the first few rounds if they don't already have a prospect kickin' around the NHL though, if Murray's about to be goneski.
