(EDIT: Also "diet drinks cause dementia" is the least suspicious health claim the rwm has done all year. It might even be true in some cases. Actually it's definitely true in some cases.) endlessmonotony fucked around with this message at 06:02 on May 12, 2017 |

It's been years since I checked on Peter "Bootstraps" Bagge, apparently he's still at it ... sorta. Quick artistic rundown: - Four people, in nearly unchanging positions, for twelve whole panels - Hence, several panels have a character who isn't speaking, but takes up space anyway. - Hence, the speech balloon tails are often tangled or ambiguous. (There's no room to lay them out properly.) - Mood development? Subtlety? Never heard of em. - Guernica comes out of loving nowhere

From some pages back, but this is some grade A incisive political commentary. I love how immediately recognizable it is, and the "other stuff I couldn't fit into the metaphor" fits Garrison's kitchen sink approach perfectly. I want to see more, this person has a bright future. History has vindicated him. The CDC sure looks foolish in retrospect, now that we can all see ebola really WAS hugely dangerous and something to panic about!

That Garrison parody might actually have better composition than a typical Garrison. The image flows pretty well from the top right to the bottom left, assisted by the gradient from light to dark. Garrison is usually less focused.

Why did you put Day by Day dialogue into this comic? Like, who is that fun for? Day by Day isn't fun, it's the opposite of fun.

Context that is really really easy to miss inferred that it was capital punishment. Threatening to poison someone is illegal, regardless of the lethal ibjection. By contrast, when you have the platform, the trapdoor, the lever and the hooded guy, you can't think "this is what a civilian intends to do".

I mean, when reading DbD when it was posted here, you knew something was off, but since you "knew" the author and the context it "made sense" in some way. You entered his bubble. Detached from his swirling nightmare of poorly photoshopped porn, the words stark and naked, you can see that they are schizophrenic ramblings without cohesion.

Hey, it still holds true! Seriously though, unless Trump knows Cheney's lich-like ability to survive far past the point any other person's body would've given out at, I'm maintaining that there's a very real chance he'll just croak from having arteries clogged full of grease from the deep fryer fluid he chugs by the gallon.
