profile angles are good for working out proportions without worrying about perspective, but I'd take this and do a 3/4 with the design like you did with the samurai dragonborn. I'd definitely turn the bow somehow to get a harder arc out of it. Here are some ideas, xoxo

thanks. i tried going for a 3/4s angle but ended up not liking the way it was coming out. Now there's more of an arc but it still seems flat.

It feels a bit stiff, since the upper body is mostly in profile, but then you've got the sudden hip turn on the lower body, which the line of the back branching out to a tail doesn't support. We'd need to see a bit more back on the left side to even it out. In terms of movement, the upper body seems to be dashing forwards while the lower body seems to be leaping backward.
I don't know if anyone else would notice this, but there's the slightly bent arm, which would make aiming and drawing the bow really difficult. When drawing a bow, you gotta keep your arm straight, more on that below...

So these are all more dynamic poses, and real cool, but this is not how you aim a bow. The arrow gets pulled to the side of the eye, so you can see where the shot's gonna go. Usually only two fingers keep hold of the arrow and pull on the string.
The bow-holding arm extends forward, while the drawing hand pulls the other arm way back, basically making your shoulders in line with your shot. Not having your arms in line will give you a massive bruise on your bow-holding hand, ask me how I know.
For a final nitpick, a well arched bendy bow might look cool drawn but would be real poo poo at its job.

good points, I think it's definitely worth considering whether the arrow is being drawn or just knocked.

Hopefully some of this sparks some ideas / you see something worth considering.

Also I recently decided to limit the neck rotation by the sternocleidomastoid muscle. I'm going to prevent it from going beyond the vertical from its attachment to the clavicle. Like in this picture (saw it at the gym and it clicked, like, oh that's probably a good rule).

There is some very sensual touching going on in the cutscene there. i don't actually think it means anything sexual but it's cool how it contrasts with modern ideas of what bad ass stuff should be like. It even seems authentic to some kind of chivalric masculine touching from a tyme longe gone

It's funny because the guy who kept arguing with Troposphere about objectification reminds me of how i thought about/ depicted women and sex when i was there. I had zero idea that it was such a tornado siren for a sexually immature man with a little bit of anger. Yall have been doing him more of a favor than he knows by bird dogging him about it. I don't know why I'm working a loving sketch so hard when all this will be gone when I line and color. there's no reason for me to do this!

E: Swamp Waste I'm doing alot more 3D poo poo these days cuz I got big things that need finished. I just did decide to take some time to draw a little bit.

Actually, something interesting came of that!

Someone offered to 3D print the Melissa model and give it working joints for basically free, so this was the result. rather rough, but not bad for a first go, and I'm suprised that it manages like 24 points of articulation AND really good motion range! I always wanted to be a toy designer, I guess it paid off!

Zone of the Enders, the designers made those the place where the pilot rides. it's pretty much exclusively for COCKpit jokes but only one of the animated series ever pokes fun at it.

To be fair, for a lot of people their art is personal, and often reflects what kind of people they are. This being the art thread, the only thing we see and know of you is what you post, and drat if that isn't a lot of robo titties.

Art's a pretty self-serving thing. Most of it is not meant for anyone but the artist's own interests. Maybe you should go learn to draw and draw the things you want instead of trying to tell others what they're supposed to do?

I don't see what that would even tell of me other than I really liked toy robots as a kid and that interest went awry somewhere down the line.
Could someone explain what they see from what I draw? Cuz I don't get the big deal here, I think people are reading way more into this than the mostly surface level thing it is.

Oh god it's the Clone Saga all over again.
It's just creeping everyone out dude.

Like, not all of your stuff is creepy - the stuff you've been posting in the 3DCG thread has generally been neat and in a vacuum the ZOE mech would be cool too - but you've posted significantly more tit robots in this thread than anything else, to the point that it's almost the only thing you post any more. I figure most people have twigged that you have a bit of an obsession and it's weirding people out. It certainly doesn't help that you're so defensive about it either.

Every time you post one of your robots they have such egregiously off-putting and out of place TnA that it's impossible for anyone to comment on anything else. I obviously can't comment on the type of person you are but I think if you want a response other than what you're getting you're gonna have to know your audience better and start posting stuff that doesn't imply that you want to gently caress a gundam. Cause that's the only thing right now that we're getting from your art at the moment, true or not.

I don't know what to say that doesn't end with me talking about the fact I've been hired on projects for my understanding of robot stuff or how people I show my work to IRL rather like it (not that I show them everything) so I'm just gonna concede that frankly, this place is just not the right place.

I will however stand by the fact that i think this is silly though.

The art association here really liked my work, and they're a bunch of old people! Hell, this is Georgia, it's nerd central all over the state at this point. There's ten year old kids that know what 'Tsundere' means and I feel incredibly old when I think about that!
Like I have artists friends that 'get it', I have non artist friends that 'get it', and they like it even if they don't always understand it, cuz I put work in to make my stuff look good. I have a girlfriend that wanted me to make her a robot girl character. You don't have to think about it as hard as you do, and frankly you can't see any varying degree to the subject matter. it all may as well be porn to you, the way you act. Which by and large, I haven't actually drawn much of at all. the things you harp on are like... mostly base level erotica or pinups at best

Tits are fun. Robots are fun. Combine the two and you have the Transformers franchise. (a bad series but we need an anology here)

Haven't been posting in this thread for the past week or so, but today I was reading up on Panini cylindrical perspective projection.

I have a bit of a headache now :downs:

I'll update on this if I end up actually making a drawing from this lovely (and probably full-of-errors) perspective study (though now that I think of it I actually got a vanishingly small amount of actually useful data for a drawing from this practice but we'll see).

Yeah, like I said before, there wasn't really much point drawing a panini projection for this scene, an example where it would be much more useful would be something like a wide angle city square scene or something where peripheral distortions would be really prominent in rectilinear perspective.
