I spent the weekend watching this show and wow is it lovable. Like a lot of other people, I watched the first episode when it first started airing, made some sarcastic RWBY comparisons, and then forgot about it. Then I saw all the attention it was getting, tried to resist it, finally gave in, and everything I thought would make this show bad ended up making it endearing. The extent that this show is greater than the sum of its parts is impressive. The only real complaint I can make is that shoebill didn't get as much airtime as all of her fanart made me hope she would get. https://twitter.com/choco1102_ani/status/855405582685093888

She has a very interesting and attractive design (particularly the eyes) and she has that particular silent, stoic cuteness vibe to her that anime tends to do well. The fact that the animal she's based off of is such a curiously adorable bird probably helps, too.  Anyway, picking a favorite character has never been the sort of thing that's supposed to make sense.
