surely they must be clever enough to remove sufficiently much surface area from it that they can *plan* to never patch it

idk, excepting tesla car companies seem to for the most part at least have insulated systems from each other fairly carefully. it is an interesting industry in that the manufacturers are actually held to account for a lot of the problems they cause, so it may work out

Wayze or whatever it's called has had a game where you drive over candies placed on the nav map for points for years now, does that count

what are you basing this on, because that whole "the entertainment system is connected directly into the CAN bus and can take control of the brakes" thing with the Prius a while back says otherwise

spreads via smb (scans internal network and random public ips), no known initial vector.

FCA has the worst (because they outsource all software stuff to 3rd parties)

clementine is the least bad option i've found for mac but it makes some really baffling ui decisions. like how the "shuffle" icon is light gray, and when you turn on shuffle, it becomes a very mildly darker gray

they worked at some consulting auditing firm that funded a lot of that research, then after that big preso at black hat or def con in '15 when they pretty much won forever they accepted the offer from uber, hosed off to the pool, and didn't actually help their now-former employer win any business from car companies
