It's much worse than how it works in Overwatch because it's not a guaranteed kill and much easier to avoid on a 2-D plane. I'm sure there are skilled players who will make sick use out of it but the only situation I could really see it being beneficial would be sending it into an enemy team that is trying to grab a tribute or something similar. Most of the time it's just a whole lot of mech HP wasted that could have been spent diving in and mixing it up before bailing out with a self-destruct.

I guess I'm in the minority but I like the boost destruct quite a lot. You can toss it behind enemies to cut off their escape/disrupt boss or throw it at a keep as a bomb. It makes it a great zoning tool while not putting you at any risk. Also if you take the instant mech talent at 20, you can can use that to knock enemies back into the explosion. It's probably not as good as some of the other 20 talents but it's hilarious knocking someone who just got out of the explosion back into it at the last second and watching them die.

I wouldn't want to spend most of my time in pilot form but her DPS is good enough that you can't just run up on her and expect to live if you have low HP. Taking GG, WP @ 16 gives her 75% (!) more basic attack damage and she can really put a hurt on dudes from the backline.

Yeah that damage increase makes her dps like Raynor with his W always on. Without any of the things that makes Raynor hard to kill of course.

Are you sure that's how it works? If you don't take the roll when you boost destruct you get a Q cancel button that turns into a greyed out roll button after the boost ends or is cancelled

Was is the recommended tank build for Varian? I just feel so useless as him in tank build. Does he just rely on the rest of the team to blow someone up when you taunt them? That rarely seems to happen with pubbies.

Parry talents at 1/4/7, Taunt, whichever talent is the most useful against the enemy comp at 13 (usually Juggernaut), Banner of Ironforge, either Glory to the Alliance or Vigilance. Once you're good at stutter stepping and knowing when to Parry your autos start chunking for a decent amount due to Heroic Strike always being up and you're basically unkillable as you lock down targets with Taunt.

But yeah taunt is a playmaker, not a delete button. Just like Mosh Pit you gotta have a team to follow it up.

That argument works in this particular case since you have to stun the very squishy not-tank without any innate mobility who spawns at a specific point after a 0.75 sec windup.

The one thing I hope they fix about D.Va is D-Matrix because it's kind of clunky to use. You should just be able to do a full 360-degree swivel while it's active.

So, I just started playing during this last week or so, and I've hit player level 50... and then pretty much stopped getting any increase on my player level, only characters... is there some trick to continue gaining player level, or is it capped?

I think the bigger zone talent let's you swivel because you can't move. The only way you'd be allowed to swivel and move was if you can't cancel

Just picked up the 'all different types' Mega Bundle; anyone have recommendations for 2 or 3 heroes out of that mix to focus on learning at first? Particularly heroes that reward playing conservatively, I guess.

He has amazing overall damage output and laning ability, and really dominates late game thanks to his stacking mechanic. He's definitely someone that benefits from playing more conservatively. If you want to pick up a bruiser/tank, I'd recommend Arthas out of the group. He's pretty good all around, and has a lot of fun CC with his slows + roots. I'd recommend Li Li out of the supports. She's in a great place right now even after her recent nerf. She's also quick to pick up and can carry lower level games with her damage build.
