Maybe we played the same game? Had a 35 minute game with a goon and some others yesterday, I got even more experience since it was my first win that day.

Coming from Dota 2, it seems people here have the exact same problem with taking objectives and finishing games when ahead. Also had a game with a goonstack yesterday on Hanamura, we were down 4-1 and they won a few teamfights decisively. But they kept doing nothing when they did, maybe take some camps or who knows. So we manage to get to 2-1, and then we wipe their whole team. As we kill the boss, our last payload spawns, so one of us pushes it while the rest stay on boss. Ended up winning, even if they had two payloads up and had dominated us for most of the game. Felt good!

A D.Va playing against Lunara definitely needs to take Ablative Armor at 13 and even then you can't really stand around and eat poison outside of D-Matrix. Not the kind of hero you should be 1v1ing.

They I think I was in that game. Was that the same string of games where another goon threw a nuke in the middle of the lane because he didn't know how to use it? That was funny.

You can surprise a squishy caster with no escape like Jaina or Chromie but it's not really something you should be doing since she most excels at breaking up groups. Her level 20 evolution to Bunny Hop puts out a pretty scary amount of damage to heroes and structures.

That's why I always take Rush-down at tier 1. Having boosters on a 5-sec cooldown helps out her mobility so much when getting to objectives + team fights.

Bahumbug, 8 losses tonight. Some of the games were because we had team mates who either AFK'd or kept disconnecting or wanted to spend more time blaming someone else instead of at least soaking XP. Tonight has been rather unfun with the toxic nerds. Last game was fun though even though we threw in the end.

I play quick match mainly so that's my fault. I just don't like the drafting stage, for some reason I get super anxious. I'm an incredibly anxious man irl so it probably has to do with that.

Yesterday had a 40 minute shrines game. We dominated early but right before we could close it out we fell apart, couldn't get a pick or win a teamfight after that. They had Samuel and Zul'jin and just deleted us too fast. We won a couple of publishers but they pounced and 2 or 3 for 0'd us right after so it was wasted. Fortunately it was 6 forts to 0 at the time we stepped on our dicks so eventually minions just won it for us.

hanamura is bullshit if you have less than a 4-5 group for exactly this reason, you can be as dominant as you want but if joe q pubbie wants to go gently caress a tower camp while the enemy pushes the payload then theres sweet gently caress all you can do about it, even if youve been dominant all game and smashed all their forts etc

I've found my new strategy on Hanamura is actually to just get my team to push a lane to death even when the opponent is pushing payloads and not worry about payloads early on because once you get a keep down the catapults in every single wave and 3X payload on the map the enemy team falls apart

I imagine that strat would fall apart if they have Kael'Thas worth their weight. He could just tear every single wave down so you would need to be tanking tower shots.

Granted you could pick Sylvanas to counter that but then you're stuck with a Sylvanas on Hanamura.

There's nothing wrong with a Sylv on Hanamura. It's just a tower pushing map disguised as the payload somehow being more important. It's actually kind of depressing how little PvP even matters.

Conveniently, here's a detailed analysis on how to dominate Hanamura as a 5-stack, feat. Sylvanas!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aJNRJNFpJ0

tl;dr draft double support with someone to enable siege (sylvanas, hammer, et al) and just fuckin slam down the lanes as 5 until you have a 5 damage shot, then you can almost instantly win with the two starting payloads if you escort one sapper wave to the core.

1. Destroying forts empowers the next payload to do +1 more core damage.
2. A single empowered payload is therefore twice as good as dutifully moving the payload when it spawns.
3. Payloads are up for almost forever and it's almost impossible to stop or fully delay the enemy eventually moving it while controlling the map.

Therefore the optimal way to play is just to ignore PvP and rush towers, empower your first two payloads, and ensure the enemy will never be able to come back. It's incredibly stupid.

Hanamura is a god awful map with too many objectives and the fact that the optimal way to win it is with some bullshit like this is part of the problem.
