I say this everywhere but I preferred Battleborn over Overwatch without question, but the game was mishandled as well as paired with some truly boneheaded design decisions and it will never recover from them and honestly deserves to fail at this point for those choices.

At this point if you have none/some of the current DLC you have to wait for the Ultimate Edition to reach the storefront and pay some number of dollars to get all of it in one purchase. All future DLC* will be free, however. *except this one, specific pack for a couple youtubers that's already been announced

I didn't see this mentioned earlier but old school Doom is free. Originally chocolate Doom was a port of the Doom source code, the project has grown to include ports of Heretic, Hexen and Strife, other commercial games that were based on the Doom engine. https://www.chocolate-doom.org/

Doom isn't free. The ports don't come with assets to actually play the game, and those you'll need to pay for. Id has a habit of releasing their source code after a while to let people do cool things like keep the engines runnable on modern machines. There are free wads out there, but I don't know about their quality.
