Sometimes I think the prequels would be fun to watch since they're so bad and weird and so different from the Disney Star Wars movies. On the other hand, I'd probably just get really bored.

the prequels produced a lot of good video games and great cartoons, and they have some hilariously goofy scenes, but a lot of stuff in episode 1 and 2 is just boring as poo poo

"Going against the original series" seems strange as a criticism. Was there a theme or premise that the original had that Rebellion contradicts in some inconsistent way? Isn't there a strong argument to be made that we don't have enough works of fiction that explores self destructive impulses that stem from virtuous emotions? Rebellion comes off strongly for me as a tragedy because it all seemingly came so close to having a happy nigh cathartic ending where the power of friendship saves the day and then nope selfish impulses motivated by love swoops in to seize defeat from the jaws of victory and it's glorious. It isn't exactly satisfying as an ending so I would be happy for more to see where to bring it from there.

This is basically where I'm at with it, with the personal caveat that it usually takes a lot for me to really love a tragedy, so I was basically never going to adore Rebellion like I did the series.

They're extra-galactic invaders that are somehow outside the Force but if you're special you can figure out how to use the Force on them The books kind of suck outside of Rebel Dream and Rebel Stand
