they use the bathtub to wash their clothes. they're not bathing 12 times a day. most of the time they don't run the bath long enough to actually fill it, just short bursts over a minute. except in the morning and evening, where they run it longer and 2-3 times within an hour.

the previous people complained about it too so lol

e: I'm over sensitive to noise, but I'm not complaining about the normal living noises, I'm annoyed about one very loud obnoxious noise that drowns out everything else, wakes us up or prevents me from sleeping, and happens over a dozen times a day. it's not their fault that the plumbing in this place is loud, of course.

People who refuse offers of hospitality for some weird reason, like if I tell them they can sleep on the nice air mattress I have but they so "no don't worry I'll just sleep on the couch". Then I say "but my couch sucks and is very uncomfortable to sleep on and the mattress takes like 2 minutes to inflate" and they say don't worry about it, so I say whatever and they wake up complaining about how bad their back hurts. I loving told you.

Personal little thing:

people who make a HUGE loving PRODUCTION over small problems easily solved. I just had to break up a fight between two grown-rear end women because the tv remote's batteries died, and instead of just going and getting new batteries, they decided that screaming at each other for the better part of an hour was a better solution.

S'not that hard to do problem solving. The TV isn't responding to remote! Change batteries! Is problem solved? GOOD.

How about people who don't address their major interpersonal problems and instead fight proxy battles over trivial things like a remote control?

The professional version of that is managers who turn everything into a huge drama. You can't let them know what's happening because they will turn a minor issue you can fix directly in an hour or so into a massive production with spreadsheets and half-hourly status updates.

Even worse: now that said problem has been fixed we must now have several two hour long meetings about preventing said problem from happening ever again.

...even though it probably won't happen again for months and will again only take an hour to fix so you've just wasted a poo poo load of time.

Ugh, had this just the other day at work. The pastry chef and I were in the walk-in together. "Om nom nom, we have an issue. So and so put a pan of vegetables like six inches further to the right than they normally do. I have NO ROOM. This is my space on the shelf shelf. I need this space." "You know this is so and so's second week here, did you ask him to move it and tell him why?" "I guess I could do that. This is my shelf ya know. I need the space." This was around 1pm, the vegetables were put on the shelf some time between 7:30 and 9am, and I could tell she had just been stewing about this all day, waiting for a moment that she and I were alone together so she could tell me about this egregious violation of protocol.

Like Christ this woman is supposed to be a supervisor/manager. I am the boss, but do you really need to bring me these incredibly minor, easily fixed problems, and pretend that they are a really, really big deal? Talk to people and look for a solution instead of whining and being pissed off. I have plenty of other things to be focused on.

Same. Everything my mom believes would lead you to think she's incredibly liberal but her reasoning for everything is the fault of some liberal boogeyman. Being liberal is evil because of abortion and Jesus so she uses some sort of warped logic to support republican agendas.

I'm really fond of the corollary, credulously believing any old bullshit because it jives with what you believe or want to believe. It's not obvious bullshit, you just have to ~*open your mind*~ . Like yeah being open to new information and viewpoints is good, but this is an article that, from the headline, seems to be about how some sort of extraterrestrial activity prevented nasa from detonating a nuke on the moon. This is waaay beyond open-mind territory.

I do absolutely adore people who don't believe obvious conspiracy nuttery because they believe something even more absurd, though. Actual comment from two people: Nasa couldn't have detonated a nuke on the moon because nukes aren't real.

A month or so back a Greens group I was added to had someone pull a "you won't see this in the MSM" with a link to a story by a major british newspaper. People who, instead of coming to a complete stop behind a car at a red light, slow down early so they can keep dawdling forward very very slowly, creeping and creeping until they are finally blocked by the object in front of them. Just stop and wait like a normal person, you aren't going to be able to take off more quickly anyway because the stopped car in front has to begin movement and such.

Also when drivers have a ghost car in front of them. They stop a full car's length behind the other car for reasons?? I guess if you want to change lanes and move in case, but it drives me nuts. Especially when doing so causes people behind them to get backed up and cluttered because if they person just moved up to a regular distance, the others would be able to do whatever they need to get by. Just scootch up please, or work on your depth perception.

Doesn't the former slow your brake wear, and the latter means if you get rear-ended, you won't plow into the car ahead of you?

I see lots of 3-4 car pileups because no one had enough of a space cushion.

Yeah. We got near unlimited sick days here at 80% pay. The employer pays for the first week and the government pays for the time after that.

After the first week you need a doctor certificate for more time and the visit costs $10. If you abuse the system your employer can make you go to a doctor on day 1 but then you bring in a receipt and the employer has to pay for the visit. The doctors are also super chill and always play it safe and give you nearly all the time you want.

We got a new guy at work who is obviously a pillhead. This on its own pisses me off, but I try to look over it because we are short on staff and not all addicts are bad people.

No, my grumble is that this guy spends every minute bitching about the job, the heat, his coworkers, everything and anything, and takes every excuse to leave early. And then he bitches about only getting twenty hours on his paycheck. Oh, and mysteriously he always has some kind of family emergency on payday that keeps him from coming in to work, forcing me and someone else to take his spot and work two jobs apiece for almost two shifts.

I'm against drugtesting as a rule, but holy poo poo would I love to see this junkie shithead get fired.
