Snap just raised a pile on the public markets without a plan for profitability at all. You don't need VC gravy to keep going. My point is that unprofitable companies, especially high-profile ones, can raise funds to operate without needing venture capital. Snap could almost certainly raise more money with a second public offering as soon as next year, though they probably wouldn't enjoy pricing the round. E: do you really think that investor storytime has been BWM for Evan?

Snap's shareholders can't even vote, so it's not like they can replace the board even if they wanted to.

Yeah, we're talking about how countries like Japan and the EU are going to handle their old people and the answer is automation. Grandma won't even need UberGray to take her to the doctor most times because her Amazon ShowMe will let her video conference with a work-from-home nurse who can do vitals and if necessary conference in a doctor in Bangladesh who is half the cost of a regular physician. We haven't really seen much cost savings in medical technology yet, but most poo poo will get cheaper and easier to use as the most Selfish Generation ages.

Unfortunately just recently buying a house we didnt have much downpayment money so we went with Carmax. The principal balance is still about $15k. We round up from $360/mo to $400/$450. And our APR is 12.95%. How are you paying 13% on an auto loan? Why would you agree to that?! Also, how could we have ever predicted that we would need to buy a $15,000 car right after buying a house? https://www.reddit.com/r/personalfinance/comments/6a72ej/gf_lost_job_and_cant_pay_for_car_lease_what_to_do/ posted:Recently my GF quit her job without having another one lined up, and did so with very little saved. We've been trying to cut back on expenses as much as possible but she still has a car lease (~400/month, 2 years left and currently underwater) and car insurance (130/month) that is holding her back. She also has about 20k in federal student loans on IBR right now which her monthly payments are currently zero. She lost her ACA health insurance and also has a financed phone and phone bill, ~80/month. She's just about to run out of money and tensions are at an all time high. Despite this, we both have a lot of credit available. $400/month for a car you don't even own, and now I'll just quit my job lol

You can't be underwater on a lease in a practical sense. You're always underwater on a lease because your payments are a straight line that intersect with the depreciation curve at a point x months in to the future. BWM is not knowing the difference between a loan and a lease.

If Ivanka had a picture of herself in her kitchen and there was a Juicero in the background then it might pass muster, but tweeting or Instagraming paid endorsements without putting the word "ad" somewhere in the message is a violation of FTC rules. Kim Kardashian has been nabbed by it and even that fat guy in a red sweater during the debates got nailed over it. You have to make clear it's an ad if you are getting paid to post it. It's just a fine. It's not like you're going to jail or anything. But I think she's a government employee now and I'm not sure they're allowed to endorse products without going through an approval process. In other words this is par for the course in Trumpland.
