yesterday it was reported that kushner is now a subject of the investigation (wapo reported someone who works at the WH, the independent claims that person is kushner based on claims by NYM reporter yashar.) meanwhile, the official WH readout of that meeting in the oval office includes trump saying that he fired comey to get the pressure off (and as the article says, the WH didn't even bother to deny it).

your posts have shifted wonderfully from "this will mean nothing" to "this is already disappearing, despite what reality suggests" when Government Drama doesn't resolve within days, because you have an attention span similar to the president's. "this will mean nothing" is perfectly salient and hard to disagree with in modern america (since hillary's not in jail lol), and a strong position that other posters have taken, but you nevertheless press on. who are you trying to convince, other than yourself?

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper appeared on This Week Sunday, and said some head-scratching things.

Clapper back in March told Meet the Press that when he issued a January 6th multiagency intelligence community assessment about Russian interference in the election, the report didn't include evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, essentially saying he hadn't been aware of any such evidence up through January 20th, his last day in office.

On Sunday, he said that didn't necessarily mean there was no such evidence, because sometimes he left it up to agency chiefs like former FBI Director James Comey to inform him about certain things.

"I left it to the judgment [of] Director Comey," Clapper said, "to decide whether, when and what to tell me about counterintelligence investigations."

So now the story has to be Trump fired Comey to stop the investigation, even though Comey had to be covering for him, which would be the opposite of "taking pressure off due to Russia"

Seriously. How do you loving contest Trump's own words that are on record in an official memo, on a televised interview, and on Twitter? He said it himself: He fired Comey to stop the investigation into the Russia connections. No matter what else, that's obstruction of justice and illegal.

One thing Trump did accomplish is show the American public that the media are a bunch of babies who publish story after story about unconfirmed knee jerk reactions.

The Democrat-establishment leaning media could do some constructive things with its time like investigate and report on other countries' universal health care policies and a review about why ours sucks in an effort to get the country together on a universal healthcare policy but nooooo...

... instead I get to hear about this poo poo.

Maybe because Democrat politicians also represent the wealthy and a public option, or medical cost regulation, would inevitably harm their true base i.e. raise taxes on the wealthy, or Pfizer, et. al.

It's like the Republican Party that yanked the dicks of their xenophobic anti-immigration voting base and instead never did anything about immigration because their rich farm owner *real* base that they served liked cheap migrant labor.

"Ah," Ratz had said, at last, "the artiste."
What's the timeline between republicans defending every dumbass thing the president does and then saying "well he was never my first choice" or w/e

I feel like it was a couple years into Obama's presidency before they would openly admit GWB was retarded, and probably the same for GHWB

And I know like 30% of the country were still die-hard Nixon supporters through the impeachment but did they stay that way or did most kinda drop it when history settled on him being a monster

I guess Reagan is the exception but he had a landslide victory and crazy high approval ratings basically forever

Yes, the media should talk about places where universal health care works to give examples to our politicians, because they pretend to not know what the gently caress.

They don't want to raise taxes on the wealthy.
They don't want to divert funds from the war chest.

They probably also funded "alternative media" sources e.g. Breitbart, Infowars, to turn public opinion, and probably also hired a shitload of internet trolls.

But probably no direct manipulation of the election.

not probably, they didn't, and beating around the bush by casting doubts on the election itself when there's not even smoke to point to a potential fire is why so many people discount the entirety of the Russian story
