I'm still happy with the season overall because the first 7 episodes were practically perfect in terms of interesting animation/aesthetic design/cinematography and were really good writing-wise as well. But this finale was kind of trash and just ended on a bit of a wet fart. Nevermind the fact that Ashi was ultimately more of a plot device than a character.

I was okay with that ending. It wasn't amazing, especially compared to the first few episodes of the season, but it wasn't terrible. It almost feels like those first few episodes were designed as a movie and then the rest of it just kind of fell back into regular television stuff to its negative.
