He grew up watching the Broadstreet Bullies so dirty teams like Anaheim he actively and eagerly cheers against.

Honestly, the most beautiful thing about the Ducks losing (aside from the fact that gently caress THE DUCKS THEY ARE OUT gently caress YES) is that this was likely their best shot at the Cup. Like there's no way they would've beat Edmonton this year if it wasn't for the lovely reffing. Oilers are only going to get better, and there's no way they'll be able to get past the Oilers in the years to come, let alone other teams in the league. The Anaheim Ducks are not winning the Stanley Cup.

Who are all garbage except Eaves Next year they've got Cogliano, Vermette, Boll, Ritchie(ELC), Kase(ELC), Shaw, Wagner, Fowler, Bieksa, Stoner, Montour(ELC), Theodore(ELC) and Manson. That's 2 $4m defensemen and 4 talented rookies. Oilers could be in worse shape if McDavid and Draisatil want real money.

My other grandfather and my dad are both Leafs fans because we live 45 minutes away from Toronto so theyre the local team. Probably had a lot to do with the fact they were the only games broadcast on local radio/TV at the time too. My brother and me grew up in the age of national TV and the internet so we had free reign to pick our teams from all available. I picked Chicago originally because 8 year old me loved how angry they made my dad when they consistently beat the Leafs. Into the early 90s they actually had a good team and I just kind of stuck with it, even through the Dollar Bill years. My brother was drawn in partially by Lemieux and Jagr's mullet, but mostly because he loved their colours. Hockey tears families apart just as easily as it brings them together.

Turns out it was pretty serendipitous that Corey Perry didn't get suspended for trying to shake the linesman off, since then he wouldn't have been dressed and on the bench to give us that picture

Despite SAS's traditional opinion of him, I'm thinking Carlyle should be getting a lot more credit for his coaching. Ducks really seemed to make adjustments that frustrated the Preds a lot and the last 3 games were super tight.
