Oh lord, shut up. A team traded away their best player because he 'isn't a team player' and 'all flash no substance.' Now he is in the finals with his new team and they are watching with their thumbs up their rear end. It's funny.

Its not even the first time Montreal has owned itself like this. They traded Patrick Roy in the 95-96 season to Colorado, who proceeded to win the Stanley Cup that season, while Montreal was eliminated in the first round. Its close to happening again and gently caress Montreal.

IIRC, this was after Roy was left in for something like a 9-goal game, as some sort of punishment by the coach, and Roy himself demanded that he be traded.

XYZ posted:Eh its still funny. Oh, I agree. Montreal hired a coach that treated Roy, arguably the greatest goalie in modern NHL history, so badly that he demanded to leave. I looked it up to be sure, and in addition to that game, the guy just generally treated him like poo poo: Wikipedia posted:... [Coach] Tremblay regularly mock[ed] Roy's English-speaking abilities. The two had almost come to blows in two incidents in 1995, one at a Long Island coffee shop before Tremblay was announced as a coach and after Tremblay allegedly fired a shot at Roy's throat during practice. I'll stop talking about hockey now.

I know a good deal about North American Gridiron Football, but I can't for the life of me tell what the idea behind this play was. It seems to go very wrong, but it doesn't look like there are many ways for it to go right.

It seems to go very wrong, but it doesn't look like there are many ways for it to go right. It's a swinging gate formation. It's supposed to confuse the defense and lure them into committing an offsides penalty, and if that doesn't work, you can just attempt a field goal. The center was never supposed to snap the ball, but he did, and that's what happens Low Desert Punk has a new favorite as of 21:04 on May 23, 2017 |

I'm sports agnostic; their alright and there are some drat good stories in them. I am growing absolutely tired of the, "haha I don't get sports!" That some goons seem to relish in. No one who follows sports cares enough to be mad, so it's not good trolling, and like, it doesn't cost anything to learn it and there are plenty of people who'd be excited to share with you, so it's not a great joke to make fun of an exclusive community.
