Any Ohm Resistance fans out there? Submerged is back in action. Got a free mix on ye olde SoundCloud from late 2016 https://soundcloud.com/subductionaudio/metropolis-sessions-09-submerged-mix You Will Choose Fire is his new band, featuring yours truly on guitar, vocals, and co-production. We've got some hype music coming out this year, and I'm hoping to get some dark, twisted, mid 00s dnb released in the next couple of months.

He was very active in the DC scene, used to throw a night called Tangent, which I played a bunch.

Submerged and I released a track from our band. It's abrasive breakcore/code/darkstep/skullstep, hovering around 200 BPM, and goes hard on the anti-fascism theme. Got on a terrestrial French radio show last week, which was pretty intense for me as a performance n00b https://youwillchoosefire.bandcamp.com/releases Gonna have a whole EP of that sort of thing out this spring, except less with the movie samples and more with actual vocals and song structures. Ohm Resistance, coming back to life in 2017 -- gonna be a banger of a year, at least where music is concerned. The new Medium album, Evolution of the Universe (42M OHM) is due out 2/17, by the way.

I dig stupidly fast and dark stuff like Current Value, Limewax, Counterstrike, Gein, etc. but that track isn't really my jam. Great that you're getting exposure and by all means feel free to continue posting stuff here.

Black Sun Empire put out their first new studio album in 5 years like a week and a half ago and I just found out about it tonight It's real loving good. I've only listened to it all the way through once but it's already one of my favorite albums of the year. It's grimy and filthy like you'd expect from BSE. Turned me into a goddamn bobblehead when I was listening to it. Y'all should really check it out, especially if you're into darker/dirtier D&B.

In about two hours I'll be spinning live on the #TDotLove YouTube stream alongside residents Tranzit and Datty: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FjkO6FL6_M I haven't been out or done much spinning lately so I might be a bit rusty. I'll probably start out with some liquid and then get right into some heady techstep. Tune in, troll the chat by requesting Rush songs, etc.

CCDNB and Forward DNB are throwing a massive party for Canada Day featuring some of our incredibly-talented local badmen like RMS, Polaris and Schematic, and some heavy-hitting rising stars like Tryptamine and Incandescent. For some reason I'm on the bill as well, despite being none of those things... I'm endlessly grateful to be given opportunities to play shows like these, supporting such unrelenting, driven talents as this city has ever seen. the CCDNB crew have been grinding hard for nearly a decade to throw great parties, and it shows. If you're in or around Toronto and at all into D&B, come check us out at Populus nightclub, it'll be a great way to spend Canada Day. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if this event is streamed live as well. For some less-local news, this is the loving tune right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aDUZA2AsmE

If you like dark, hard, and scary music, check out Ohm Resistance and its sister label Obliterati Fair warning, I went from being the label's biggest fan to working for it, so I'm biased as hell. That said, Temulent and Submerged were the first dnb producers I ever listened to, and they're the guys who got me hooked on listening to, producing, and DJing jungle. I had no idea what drum n bass was at the time, but I came from a trip-hop, pop, and punk background previously. We were dabbling in some adjacent genres, and Submerged and I are in a drum n bass/pop/shoegaze band together, but lately we've been working on more "Dirty Bomb"-era tunes. Here's some of my personal favorites. Gonna link to Youtube cuz I don't want this to look like I'm trying to sell poo poo. If you do feel like buying, the website is currently down, but all the digital tunes are on Bandcamp and the usual places. If anyone wants anything on vinyl, PM me and I'll figure out if it's in stock. The last Submerged vs Bill Laswell release is on grey and red splatter vinyl and it looks spectacular. Impulse and Submerged - Dirty Bomb Accela and Plejik - Mental Collapse Silent Killer - Amber Submerged - Servant (Technical Itch Remix) (Kurt and I play a sick version of this live as You Will Choose Fire) Temulent - Chi Reshape (remix of a Todd Buckler/Buchler tune; Judson found him and released a killer new remix on his Nervosa label last year)

Maybe you could add some info on labels and a shortlist of ones to keep an eye on (e.g. Hospital and Shogun for Liquid, Blackout and Eatbrain for neuro, Playaz and Low Down Deep for jump-up, RAM and Viper for pretty much everything, etc). IMO one of the coolest things about D&B is that the labels which support the genre are all owned and run by producers.

Thanks for this. So many classics in this mix. Don't think I've ever heard this mix before. It's really really great. Enjoying my day going down the rabbit hole of jungle. @zeldadude, don't forget other jungle classic artists like DJ Hype and Zinc, DJ SS, Dillinja, Mickey Finn and Aphrodite. Even googling "top jungle tracks" will bring some great results on various different top 5 to top 20 tracks. I wish tracks today had that 90s jungle feel to them again.

Yeah I wouldn't get to caught up with sub genre names. To me jungle and drum and bass are interchangeable it's kind of confusing I know. Just name artists and labels you like that its a much better way getting a feel for what people can recommend you.
